Travelling With Your Pet: Choosing the Right Hotel
If you’re planning your next journey and need a suitable spot for you and your furry friend, you’re in the right place. This guide covers what to look for in a pet-friendly hotel and the questions to ask before you book.
What Makes Pet-friendly Hotels Special?
Some hotels that accept pets offer services tailored to your pet’s needs on top of the standard facilities. These may include pet beds, food and water bowls, pet sitters, pet-friendly menus, and even pet spas!
Selecting the Perfect Pet-friendly Hotel
Choosing a pet-friendly hotel involves more than simply verifying if pets are accepted. Here are some factors to consider when making your selection.
- Reviews: Reviews from previous visitors can provide an insight as to what you should expect in terms of pet-friendliness from a hotel.
- Location: Hotels in pet-friendly neighborhoods or near parks are ideal as they offer opportunities for walks, exploration, and socialization.
- Room selection: Ensure that the room offered is a suitable size for your pet and that it meets all your requirements.
Ask the Hotel Before You Book
Pet policies vary from hotel to hotel, and even by room type. Before booking, ask the hotel:
- Are pets accepted, and are there limits on species, size or number?
- Is there an extra fee or deposit?
- Can pets go into shared areas such as the restaurant, pool or beach?
- Is there a park or green space nearby for walks?
If you are considering a property such as Hotel Felizya Kemer, Murat Hotel or Cigdemhan Pansiyon, confirm these points with the hotel before booking and keep the answer in writing.
Before You Set Off
Pack your pet’s vaccination record, food, water bowl, lead and a familiar blanket. If you are travelling abroad, check the country’s pet entry rules in advance.
