Free parking (sharp turn for car park just before pub) Staff helpful and friendly Gorgeous out door seating area Good location Breakfast delicious (had eggs royal and eggs were perfect) Cosy pub Good price En suite Gates locked on a night so felt very safe

We stayed in Room 4 for 4 nights. The room was fresh, clean & very welcoming & is found at the rear of the pub in a converted stable block. It's a great location to visit York Minster, The Shambles, Betty's Tea Room & all the other attractions of York - all just a short walk away. Our room had everything needed for our stay. Cosy, comfy bed, refreshment tray, wardrobe, chest of drawers, chair, bedside cabinet, iron & ironing board, hair dryer & ceiling fan, shower room. Loved the little porch entry before entering the room.

Rooms are set back from main pub so nice and quiet. Excellent locality, close to main area. Didn’t eat in Masons Arms but the food looked amazing.

Comfortable and clean

Accommodation, food & drink were excellent

The bed was really comfortable. Plenty of teabags, milk, hot chocolate, biscuits.

Close to the Barbican. Great staff
