Shoestring Cave House

Beautiful hotel nice location amazing breakfast. This cave hotel is located in the very city center, close to good restaurants and shops. easy to get to cause there is no need to climb up to reach it which in my opinion was a big plus. Capadocia is famous for its viewpoint! Don’t worry this offers you a great one! So eventhough the entrance of the hotel is not on a hill, the hotel itself develops vertically so you can climb up the stairs to reach the pool and an amazing glassed floor terrace with a stunning view! We got the cave room with the balcony and we loved it! It was big full of natural light and greatly decored. Of course as any cave room the bathrooms tends to get a bit dump overtime but it is the price to pay to have the experience to sleep in a cave. Only down side was that the balcony was not really a balcony as we stayed at the ground floor so the view we were hoping unfortunately was not there. The breakfast had a great variety between sweet and savoury, all things were fresh and they made sure the dishes were always full. Only downside was there was only soluble coffee available and no freshly brewed. No hot milk but only cold. We had a problem on our second day that unfortunately made us really upset as well as we lost the breakfast, and the whole morning (and of you stay in a place for 3 days, i believe half a day gone is a big deal) but the hotel stuff and mainly the manager of it was helpful and thanksfully solved it by the early afternoon. Because of this last point i cannot give the maximum rate but it totally deserves 9/10 stars.

Amazing setting and views from the hotel!

We had a wonderful experience staying at Shoestring Cave Hotel in Cappadocia. The cave-style rooms give a very authentic feel of the region, yet they are modern, clean, and comfortable. The ambiance is peaceful and perfect for a relaxing stay. The hotel’s location is excellent—right in Göreme—making it very convenient to explore the main viewpoints, restaurants, and tour pickup points. The rooftop terrace is a highlight. The staff were very friendly, helpful, and always willing to guide us with local tips and tour suggestions. Breakfast was good with a nice variety, and the overall atmosphere of the hotel was warm and welcoming. Overall, a great place to stay if you want a mix of traditional cave experience with modern comfort. Highly recommended for couples, families, and anyone visiting Cappadocia!

Very good ambience

The location was perfect. The balloons flew right overhead every morning. The hotel is a short distance along a side street so near the bars and restaurants but a quiet location. Our room was on the second floor and was a cave room, our friends room was at the top by the pool and wasnt a cave room but still a very nice room with a fabulous view. We stayed at the end of october and the bar was closed. Breakfast was very good, buffet style. There are alot of steps. Swimming pool was open for a rather chilly dip. Good value.

Perfect location, very close to the center of the town. The hotel is very beautiful and the staff was very good. The room was very nice with a great view at the city and the valley. We also find a parking spot outside that was really helpful for us. The breakfast also was quite good, not very close to the European style (not many sweets, mostly savory dishes).

I had a great stay at this hotel! The room was clean, comfortable, and nicely decorated. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout my visit, and the location was perfect — close to everything I needed. The only small downside was that the shower didn’t have a door, which made the bathroom floor a bit wet after use. Other than that, everything was excellent. I’d definitely stay here again!

The hotel is in the city centre and the staff (especially the owner) is amazing. There is also a beautiful rooftop with a stunning view. The breakfast is exceptional.

We loved the hotel's excellent rooftop, offering a wonderful spot to relax, take in the neighborhood atmosphere, and watch the sunrise. The team members were all incredibly polite and professional. Our only disappointment was that the hot air balloon flights were canceled throughout our entire visit. We can only imagine how magical it would have been to witness the sunrise with the balloons drifting past

The hotel was right in Goreme, 100metres to the Main Street. It was set into a hill over several levels with the pool and bar being up on the top level with a gorgeous terrace overlooking the town. We were there the 1st October and it was beginning to wind down so bar wasn’t working and pool was about to close. It had lovely fairy lights that came on in the evening and when the balloons came over in the morning you could almost touch them. Lovely big room with a separate sitting area.

We had an enjoyable stay at Shoestring! The rooms were full of character, and sleeping inside a real cave was such a unique experience. The location was perfect — just a short walk from the centre of Göreme with stunning views over the fairy chimneys. For the price, it was exceptional value for money. The breakfast was delicious, with a wonderful variety of fresh local food and breathtaking views. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help with recommendations and bookings. A truly charming, affordable stay that exceeded all expectations. We’d definitely stay here again!
