The Crown at Wells, Somerset

The Crown at Wells, Somerset is a 15th-century former coaching inn on Market Place in the centre of Wells, close to the cathedral and the Bishop’s Palace. William Penn is recorded as preaching here in 1695.

The traditional en suite rooms, some with old timber beams, have Egyptian cotton sheets, tea and coffee facilities and a TV. Anton’s Bistrot cooks with local produce and keeps a long wine list, while the Penn Bar pours local ales.
