Lovely old fashioned hotel with great comfortable rooms and very nice people working there. I liked it more before they renovated it, but they managed to keep the atmosphere.

The hotel's location right next to Edinburgh Waverley station is perfect for an arrival by train. The bedroom was a very good size and the bed was comfortable.

Location! And it was so luxurious!

The very helpful reception staff found us an alternative room when we arrived to find that our allocated room was dark, having a skylight instead of a window, and with low slanting ceilings. This was not described on our booking with booking.com. We were very pleased and thankful to be moved to a better room. The ornate Grand Cafe restaurant was excellent and the delicious breakfasts were served in a lovely room. All the staff were unfailingly polite, friendly and efficient. The hotel is a beautifully renovated historic building, with stylish modern bedrooms, just a few steps away from Waverley station.

Next to Waverley Station so it's easy to get to. Close to High St, the Royal Mile. Every thing I needed to visit during my stay was close at hand. The room was huge and well appointed

Beautiful hotel, right across from the train station. Restaurant was beautiful! Movie theater in the hotel for guests. They were showing the latest Downton Abbey.
