Guest Reviews
It was comfortable with facilities for making breakfast. There seemed to be a conscious wish not to use plastic anywhere - felt eco-friendly. I loved the decor and ambience of the tavern itself which had the character so many places don’t have now. Perfect stay.
Room was very nice, big comfy bed, very clean, nicely kitted out bathroom. For the price, better than I expected. Would definitely stay there again.
Easy access via the pub. Pub itself is lovely-great food and ambience.
Bed. Size of room. Facilities. Staff. Location.
Great food and the hosts were friendly and welcoming
Everything!
Super clean. Staff were hugely welcoming! Excellent location
Great location. Comfortable room. Bar that has live music and serves food right downstairs.
Fab location! Really fun and interesting.
Very welcoming staff, room good size. High quality bedding
Location, close to Clifton Down station being a plus and generally pleasant location. The fact that it was a ‘quirky’ establishment. Thought the facilities were good and the room size was excellent. The provision of fresh water and milk was a nice touch.
Lovely spacious room. Good tea, coffee etc. Nice to have fresh milk.

Spacious, comfortable, conveniently located.
Lovely rooms, excellent value and a lovely pub too.
Lovely large room above the theatre we went to
Very comfortable rooms and nice staff. The entrance to the rooms is a bit shabby but the rooms are thoughtfully put together with good showers and loads of space.
Nice apartment, great location, super nice staff at the Alma Tavern. Everything you need if you love Clifton.
Very comfortable room, staff on site were lovely. The pub serves lunch and dinner, tasty and good value for money. The pantry area with milk, mineral water and cereal was a lovely touch. There is a little Hungarian cafe two minutes walk away on the same street if you fancy a heartier breakfast. We stayed for the Balloon Fiesta and the room is about 45 minutes walk from the festival site. (1 hour 10 on the way back as they close the suspension bridge after 6.) It is 2 minutes walk away from the bus stop for Temple Meads station, there are many restaurants nearby.
The room was absolutely lovely and very spacious! We immediately felt at home. Everything was sparklingly clean and the staff were without exception incredibly friendly. We are particularly grateful to the woman who did the housekeeping, who could not have been nicer and always made sure we had everything we needed. Having the theatre and pub downstairs was also a plus and we enjoyed having live jazz music, a pub quiz and several performances so close by. The location is lovely and there are lots of food and drink options around.
