Guest Reviews
Value for money & staff very friendly
Such a great location for the M-shed and We the curious. And right opposite Zaza Bazaar! Amazing price too!!
I liked so many things about this accommodation. Firstly, the staff were friendly, the location was as ideal as it comes, being located right in the centre of Bristol. It's located next door to cafes, shops, pubs, and historic sites along the Bristol waterfront. The amenities were perfect as I was able to use the canteen, clean showers, great toilets, multiple common rooms, and nice rooms with comfy beds. YHA continues to impress and I will definitely consider the hostel in the future.
Cheap price, good location, blackout curtains, big pillows, thick duvets
Good price for we get
Staff was incredibly helpful.
Very friendly staff. Easy check in !
It was great to be able to get to the West England Art exhibition so easily by train and walking around Clifton s gorgeous old buildings reminded me of the 45 years I lived in London

All the staff was so friendly and helpful
The staff were all super friendly and helpful
I was pleasantly surprised by my positive first experience of staying at the YHA. I was lucky to share with other considerate and respectful guests. Nice comfy bed with good facilities and amazing staff
Location and vibe of cafe
Excellent location, nice staff, easy check in, the dorms weren’t massive so noise wasn’t too bad at night. Also I was 10mins late for check out but they let me off thankfully
Met all our needs/ requirements& probably exceeded our expectations. Helpful & courteous staff. See
Excellent location and cosy communal spaces. Friendly staff
Very clean, comfortable & secure - freezing cold day but the room was warm & cosy. Lovely friendly, helpful staff - convenient to use the luggage store prior to the check in time. I stay here every year for my work Xmas function in the city - where else can you get a Bristol Harbour view & be so central for such a reasonable price - my first choice to stay for any activity happening in the city.
The staff during my check-in was so good. I forgot their name but they were real sweethearts.
About This Hotel
Located on Narrow Quay facing Bristol’s active Harbourside, YHA Bristol sits in a historic building beside the Arnolfini Gallery. The eight-room property offers a compact, characterful base for visitors who want to be close to the water and to the city’s cultural pulse. The address is 14 Narrow Quay, a short stroll from the city center and dozens of places to eat, drink and explore.
Step outside and you are in a pedestrian friendly waterfront area where boats glide past and cafes line the quay. The Arnolfini Gallery nearby provides a cultural anchor and the harbour ambience shapes the pace of a day here. It is an ideal choice for travelers who want a central location with easy access to Bristol’s historic landmarks, modern quirks and riverside views. The harbour facing aspect means you can start mornings with a stroll along the water and end evenings watching sunset over the harbor lights.
On site there is a restaurant that serves meals during the day, making it convenient for guests to dine without leaving the building. Guests have access to meals at reasonable hours, and the property is equipped with spaces suitable for socializing or working in a relaxed environment. For lighter meals or a casual bite, the on site dining options provide a straightforward choice when you do not want to cook or plan an excursion. The harbour area also offers numerous options for drinks and further dining after you step outside.
The eight rooms are designed with practicality in mind. They are simple and comfortable, with a straightforward layout that maximizes space. Some room configurations feature bunk beds, a flexible option for families or friends traveling together. While this is not a luxury retreat, the clean, well kept spaces provide a reliable base after a day of exploring the city or catching up on work.
Family friendly policy is a clear feature here. Children of any age are welcome, and for families the stay can be very economical with up to five children staying free when using existing beds for six years old and under. There is no capacity for extra beds or cots, and the maximum number of guests per booking is six. These policies help guests plan trips with younger travelers in mind and ensure pricing remains straightforward.
WiFi is available in public areas and is free of charge, keeping everyone connected while you wander the Harbourside. Check-in starts from 3:00 PM and check-out is by 10:00 AM, which creates a simple rhythm for your Bristol visit. Pets are not allowed, and there is no age restriction for check-in, making this a stress free option for families and groups arriving from different corners of the country or abroad.
For guests seeking meeting space or light business facilities, the property includes a conference room that can accommodate small gatherings. The combination of a convenient harbour location, comfortable rooms and on site dining makes YHA Bristol an appealing choice for travelers who value location, value and ease. This is a great option for couples seeking a city break, families exploring Bristol with kids in tow, or groups looking for a practical base near the waterfront.
