Ye Olde Smugglers Inne

Ye Olde Smugglers Inne is a traditional inn on Waterloo Square in Alfriston, a village in the South Downs of East Sussex. The building’s origins lie in the 14th century, and much of its old character survives.

Each individually furnished room has an en suite, a radio, an alarm clock, a wardrobe and free WiFi. The fireside bar and restaurant serve home cooking all day, with international wines and Sussex ales. A self-service continental breakfast runs from 07:30 to 09:00.

There is a garden, a terrace and parking. Drusillas Park is a 3-minute drive, Eastbourne and Lewes are about 9 miles off, and Brighton around 17 miles west. It suits walkers and village explorers.
