I really enjoyed being able to connect with other people who were also staying at CoDE. Thanks to the CoDE WhatsApp group, it was very easy to plan activities together or participate in the existing activities that CoDE so kindly offers its guests daily.

Amazing place to stay - right in the heart of town, close to the train station, staff were exceptionally friendly, and pods/shared bathrooms were clean and comfortable. Cannot recommend staying here more highly.

The best hostel I have ever stayed in without a doubt. One of the warmest welcomes in Edinburgh, comfy rooms and clean bathrooms. It is the staff that absolutely make this place! 😄 Would absolutely stay here again.

Fantastic, friendly service from staff. Even though I couldn't check in early (had no expectation to) they allowed me to be able to use the shower facilities so I could freshen up from a very early flight and before heading to a wedding. Showers and bathrooms were plentiful, clean and well equipped. The pods were comfy and had everything you needed. Central location and wonderful value. Will be looking out for Code hostels in other locations I'm travelling to.

Everything was amazing, the cleanliness, the facilities, everything, I loved how it was decorated. The staff was super nice, I really liked the person that did my check in, he was the nicest person ever. The location is amazing for walking around the city, right in royal mile and a short 2 minutes walk from the most touristy monuments.

Awesome location! Super clean. The staff were lovely and went out of their way to sort my breakfast which is low carb so they brought me an extra egg feta patty as I hadn't eaten the bun. I thought that was very kind and a personal touch. Also there was a high-up window in the bedroom that was opened which was great for letting in air. Sealed windows bug me.

From the moment I arrived, I felt like I was a welcomed guest. The staff was very polite and helpful. On the second morning of my stay I had an issue with the locker lock and the staff sprang into action and resolved it quickly. They were consistently helpful the entire time regardless of who was on duty.

It's a "hostel" ("hotel"). The place has been renovated and is very well maintained, very nice, and cozy. I stayed in a pod room in an 8-bed mixed dormitory, and it was absolutely excellent. My pod bed was one of the bottom ones, which was very comfortable and had a curtain. I was able to sleep really well. The staff were very respectful and tried to keep noise to a minimum. The room was very cozy, the mattress and pillows were very good, and the bathroom and shower were quite good. There's a bar at the entrance of the hostel that serves breakfast, some meals, and liquor. It's nice, but for lunch or dinner would be better in the city/surroundings. It's better to do that while sightseeing in the city. The staff was super friendly, quick, and attentive; I have no complaints about that. (This review was written by my daughter Sofia, a solo 18-year-old traveler)

Friendly helpful staff that were very efficient, checkin and out were quick and easy. Stayed in an 8 bed dorm. 1st time staying in a pod set-up in a hostel and it was great! Comfy bed and great to have privacy. Good lighting in pod so could read and shelf and charging points very handy. Quiet, clean and communal bathroom good facilities. Excellent location in the old town, cant get any more central!

Location - Excellent location , step out the door and you were in the centre of the city, 5 minutes from anything. Facilities - The showers and toilets were spotless. The dorm and pod - Hostel felt very safe as codes needed to access dorm areas, the dorms are also very clean and the pods were comfortable. Staff - The staff were very helpful throughout the stay, making you feel welcomed and answering any questions you may have Definitely will be coming back!!
