Madeline 10.0

Welcoming staff who were very accommodating when we had a late arrival. Great location and spacious rooms.

Oruj 9.0

The room was quite spacious and had everything I needed — a kettle, fridge, some dishes, and even a small table, which helped me save on breakfasts outside. I really appreciated that everything inside, including the bed linen, was clean — that’s one of the most important things for me. The staff were very friendly and polite. The location is great, easy to reach the historical center and many other places.

Michelle 10.0

The hotel is on a side street which is very quiet. The location is very good with restaurants, cafes and shops all at the bottom of street, a minutes walk away. The metro station is very close too.

Luisa 8.0

The design, location and staff.

Albert 10.0

We booked for three nights and stayed for four nights. The location is prefect, it’s very central but the road is nice and quiet. The staff went out of their way to accommodate us. The rooms are big which we liked. A very pleasant stay at the Historic Galata.

Historic Galata is such a unique place to stay. My duplex apartment had so much character. The building is situated in a very quiet street, yet so close and within walking distance of pretty much everything you would like to see. Easy access to the metro as well. The staff were absolutely amazing, always on hand to answer any questions that I had and just incredibly helpful. Be warned there is a bit of a hill to get to the accommodation! Complete value for money!

Lovely brothers running the hotel

Walter 10.0

Friendly and helpful staff. Good location... short walking distance to T1 tram line and ferry. Short walk to Karaköy for restaurants and nightlife, and short walk to Galata and Istiklal. Room was quiet and comfortable.

Luigi 9.0

Large rooms. And beautiful historic shape. The guy at the reception is very friendly and available to help.

Giulia 10.0

What a fantastic stay! Umut and his brother are great hosts, their main concern is to make you happy and give you the best experience :) The room was so nice, very peculiar style and had all comfort. Very recommended.

Shashank 9.0

It was very nice and at the great location. Tram, metro, bus were at close distance and gallata tower and istiklal street were also at walking distance. The family at the hotel were very good. They helped us out in choosing the right distance and right place to explore and enjoy. The place was another home, far from home.

Jeremias 10.0

The couple working at the reception were lovely, super helpful and always in a great mood. The location is also very well connected to anywhere in Istanbul, and is inside of a really lovely and popular neighborhood of the city.

Douminia 9.0

A lovely place in Galata and a warm welcome.

Brianna 10.0

Room was large and so beautifully decorated. Felt like a home/apartment rather than a hotel. Close to everything but street itself was quiet. The staff were great, they even helped me with an itinerary for things to do on my first day.

About This Hotel

Historic Galata sits in the heart of Istanbul’s historic Galata district, a boutique property that blends contemporary comfort with a sense of place. The setting is urban, yet it connects guests with the area’s narrow lanes, centuries old architecture and a welcoming view of the water. The neighborhood atmosphere puts you in touch with daily life in Istanbul, while the proximity to ferry terminals makes day trips to the islands straightforward and convenient. Beach and pool experience The listing does not mention on site beach or pool facilities, which suits travelers who want a city break centered on culture, architecture and easy access to sights.
