The hotel is in a very central location, a few minutes walk from the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia and the Basilica Cistern. It's also very close to public transports and easy to reach by taxi. Breakfast is decent, wifi works and the staff is super helpful and friendly.

We had a wonderful stay! The location is perfect – right in the heart of the city, close to everything. The place was super clean, and the hosts provided us with lots of helpful information about what to see and do. The breakfast was also a highlight – big, self-service, and very good. Definitely recommend!

Hotel in a very nice neighborhood walking distance to historic Sultanahmet, view of the Bosphore at breakfast on its terrace, the plus is the friendliness of the host, we mentioned to him our shower head had given up and he had it fixed right that day, it was a breeze booking and staying there, on our request we had a safe shuttle at our departure to the airport. Recommended!

The location of the hotel is perfect. It is in the old center, near the Blue Mosque, markets, 10 minutes from the public transport. The staff is very kind, telling you what you can visit in Istanbul. The breakfast is varied. The quadruple rooms are a little bit small. But the bathroom is big enough and clean.

About This Hotel

Asmali Hotel is tucked into Istanbul’s historic Sultanahmet district, a neighborhood where centuries of history are felt in every street. Guests arrive to a boutique atmosphere inside a property that preserves a sense of old world charm while offering essential modern comfort. The location is its strongest asset, placing visitors steps away from world famous monuments, atmospheric lanes, and a vibrant local scene. From the small outdoor terrace, you can drink in panoramic views of the Blue Mosque and the Marmara Sea, a reminder that you are in the heart of this storied city. For travelers who want to immerse themselves in the essence of Istanbul, the setting is quietly captivating and endlessly photogenic. The hotel comprises a compact 15 rooms, each designed to offer a practical base for exploring the area. Free WiFi and satellite television are provided in the rooms, delivering reliable connectivity and entertainment after a day of sightseeing. The emphasis throughout is on uncomplicated comfort and easy access to the city’s famed landmarks, rather than on oversized hotel facilities. The property’s location means you can stroll out and begin your day with a stroll through Sultanahmet’s historic streets and open squares, then return for a restful evening with a view from the terrace. Check in is available from 14:00, and guests are asked to check out by 12:00. These times suit travelers who want a relaxed arrival and a flexible morning before returning to the city’s treasures. With a smaller property, service tends to be intimate and attentive, and that approach is reflected in the way staff engage with guests and help plan day trips or recommend nearby dining options. The emphasis is on delivering a smooth, hassle free stay that allows you to focus on the experience outside the door. Inside the rooms you will find a straightforward layout that supports restful nights after busy days of sightseeing. The mix of beds and living space shown in the photos suggests there are configurations that accommodate solo travelers, couples, and small groups. Many images reveal practical amenities such as seating areas, wardrobe space, and air conditioning, all of which contribute to a comfortable stay after a day spent under the Istanbul sun. A number of rooms feature balconies or terraces, enabling guests to enjoy a private outdoor connection to the city’s energy and to the terrace’s elevated view of the skyline. A key note for guests planning family trips is the hotel policy regarding children and occupancy. The property welcomes children of any age, making it a viable option for families who want to stay in a historic district without sacrificing comfort. The maximum occupancy per room is four guests, which supports small family groups or friends traveling together. It is important to be aware that the property does not offer extra beds or cots, so plan accordingly when traveling with young children. Additionally, the minimum check in age is 18, a standard rule that hotels in this area follow. These details can help you determine if this property aligns with your family planning and travel style. Food and beverage options are hinted at in the image library alongside the room photos. The presence of a restaurant or dining area is suggested by tags such as Restaurant and Buffet breakfast, and a scene that hints at a food and drink offering is visible in several photos. While the exact menu is not described in the text data, the visual cues indicate that guests can expect a convenient breakfast service and on site dining options to start and end the day surrounded by the hotel’s intimate ambience. Coffee and tea facilities appear in some room and public area images, signaling that light refreshments may be readily available within the property, contributing to a relaxed stay without the need to venture far for a quick bite or a hot drink. Relaxation and entertainment come primarily from the ambience and the setting. The terrace is the natural focal point for unwinding, with its views over the Blue Mosque and the Marmara Sea providing a daily dose of Istanbul scenery. The hotel’s smaller scale fosters a calm, unhurried environment where guests can take a quiet moment between sights. While there is no explicit mention of a full spa or extensive wellness program, the availability of a communal lounge or TV room is implied by the image tags, offering a cozy space for evenings in after a day of exploration. The surrounding Sultanahmet environment itself provides abundant opportunities for cultural experiences, from museum visits and architectural marvels to street life and traditional markets, all within easy walking distance. This hotel suits travelers who value location, character, and a personal touch over large scale amenities. It is especially appealing to couples seeking an authentic stay within Istanbul’s historic center, as well as small families who want a welcoming base in a pedestrian-friendly area. The terrace views, the proximity to Blue Mosque landmarks, and the classic Istanbul atmosphere make it a strong choice for first time visitors aiming to see the city’s top sites without sacrificing comfort. For solo travelers who want to be where the action is while still returning to a calm, intimate property at night, Asmali Hotel offers a practical balance of convenience and atmosphere. In summary, Asmali Hotel presents a charming, well located option in Sultanahmet for travelers who prize access to Istanbul’s history and skyline. With free WiFi and satellite TV in every room, a terrace framed by city views, and a family friendly policy that welcomes children of any age while maintaining a modest maximum occupancy, it offers a straightforward, comfortable base in one of the world’s most dramatic urban settings. The combination of location, views, and a personable, low key hotel experience makes this property a solid choice for those who want to be at the center of Istanbul’s most celebrated district while enjoying a peaceful retreat after a day of discovery.
