Guest Reviews
Great location
We had a wonderful time! The staff were amazing, very kind to our child (especially young man at the reception who showed him the local cats) and offered helpful advice about local spots. The hotel is very stylish, spotlessly clean, and perfectly located for exploring the city. We felt truly welcomed and cared for. Highly recommended
Charming literary theme outside and in. Breakfast was fabulous! Our table was practically covered with a wonderful variety of dishes and they also made omelettes or other kinds of eggs to order. The coffee was good too. The staff were very helpful and attentive. They will arrange whatever you need. Homemade cookies as well as drinking water in the lobby 24/7. The location is excellent. Safe neighborhood. There are many, many restaurants to walk to.
Hotel Poem is centrally located in Istanbul. It is safe and and very nice, chic place to stay at. The staff is amazing, specially Erin whom we had amazing conversation with.
Fabulous, central location with an excellent breakfast! The staff was welcoming and very helpful in suggesting places to visit, where to find what we were interested in and being available for anything we might need/want.
The breakfast was amazing. The room we had with a view was superb and location in old town perfect
Tucked away, but central. Good sized room, comfortable bed. Great breakfast.
Spacious, clean rooms. The hotel is conveniently located in the old town, close to many sights, restaurants and bars. Metro and Tram stops are minutes away. Daily, we got served a rich and tasty Turkish breakfast. The hotel staff was super friendly and accommodating to any request. Highly recommended! :)
Location excellent, near everything but in a quiet no through road. The only criticism of breakfast is that far too much was put on the table, which must lead to massive waste. It was great to have, in addition, the offer of fresh cooked eggs in any way you wanted.
All the staff at this lovely place were happy, friendly and helpful. Our large room with terrace was one of the best we have stayed in. The breakfast was plentiful with eggs cooked fresh as you wished. The hotel is in a dead end street so it was very quiet but with many restaurants just a couple of minutes walk away. The location was perfect being within walking distance of hagia sophia, blue mosque, basilica cistern, Bosporus, etc. We were here with friends, who also had a similar room to ours, and who said the hotel is excellent and had "good vibes".
Staff was amazing, especially Eren who made our entire stay so fun and worthwhile. Location was perfect too, 5 min walking distance to all the attractions. Highly recommended!
Great location. Sensational breakfast! The room was very quiet, clean and comfortable.
Quiet, comfortable and amazing breakfast Very friendly staff
Very nice small hotel, near Hagia Sophia, delicious breakfast you can sit outside on small terrace, perfect staff especially the best receptionist Aron :-)
The staff- everyone was authentically kind and helpful. The hotel was unique, charming, quiet, well located.
I especially appreciated the outstanding service, everyone was exceptionally kind and attentive. A special thanks to the breakfast team and to Erem at the reception, who made me feel truly welcome with their warmth and professionalism! The breakfast itself was fantastic, with an impressive variety of delicious and flavorful dishes that exceeded my expectations!
Great location, outstanding over-the-top breakfast, and beautiful views of the Bosporus from our room
We really enjoyed our stay. The location is 5 min walk away from the historical center of Istanbul. Rooms were clean and well designed. Staff was super friendly. Eren showed us around the place and gave us very nice recommendations about sightseeing and restaurants around. The breakfast was a special delight with Turkish dishes and a beautiful service. Very welcoming place. Highly recommended.
Peaceful, excellent staff.
Hotel Poem exceeded our expectations in every way. The location is outstanding, making it easy to explore Istanbul’s historic sites on foot. The hotel is spotless — one of the cleanest we have ever stayed in. Rooms are modern, comfortable, and equipped with everything a traveler might need. The staff were genuinely warm, friendly, and eager to help, which made our stay even more enjoyable. Breakfast was exceptional, offering a traditional Turkish spread with fresh, high-quality ingredients, served by attentive and pleasant staff. This small, modern, and very well-managed boutique hotel combines charm with professionalism. We would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Istanbul.

About This Hotel
Hotel Poem sits in the heart of Istanbul’s historic Sultanahmet district. It is described as a special class property that blends a cheerful atmosphere with genuine value, making it an appealing option for travelers who want to be close to the citys most iconic sights. The hotel is located at Akbiyik Cad Terbiyik Sok No 12, Sultanahmet 34400, and Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque are within a short walk. Guests often remark on the easy, pedestrian friendly setup of the area and the sense of immersion in a place where history meets daily life. The Bosphorus is a feature drawn into the stay, with several rooms and outdoor spaces offering sea views or balconies that frame the water and the city skyline. With just 13 rooms the property preserves a boutique feel and a level of personal attention that larger venues rarely match. This is a place for guests who value character, location and attentive service. Location and surroundings are a strong draw for Hotel Poem. You are immediately immersed in the pulse and charm of Sultanahmet, one of Istanbul’s most enduring historic neighborhoods. The proximity to Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque means you can step out after breakfast and begin your day among centuries of artistic and architectural wonder. The central address gives easy access to the city’s core sights, while the intimate scale of the hotel keeps things calm and manageable after a day of sightseeing. If you are seeking a base from which to explore the area on foot, this address makes sense, letting you wander the ancient streets at your own pace and return to a quiet, comfortable room for rest. Beach and pool experiences are not a feature here, but the Bosphorus presence is felt through sea view options and outdoor spaces. Several of the rooms offer balconies or terraces that catch gentle breezes and provide a sense of being close to the water even while you are based in the historic center. The building itself offers a compact and welcoming atmosphere that invites guests to unwind without the bustle of a larger resort. The emphasis is on a relaxed stay rather than resort style amenities, which suits travelers who prefer intimate encounters with their surroundings and a more personal level of service. Rooms in Hotel Poem emphasize comfort and practical, modern touches. The property is small, but the design consistently aims to deliver restful sleep in a bright, well presented environment. Photos show substantial beds with clean lines and soft textiles, and many rooms include seating areas where guests can curl up with a book or plan their next excursion. Bathrooms appear modern and well equipped, typically with showers and clear detailing that enhances daily routines. A number of rooms feature balconies or terraces and some offer sea views that let the city feel a little closer to the water. While the data does not provide specific renovation dates, the overall presentation of the interiors suggests a contemporary, cared for look that aligns with the special class positioning and reinforces the sense of value for money. Food and beverage options at Hotel Poem reflect a practical and guest friendly approach. The photo gallery and descriptive notes indicate on site dining spaces and a dedicated breakfast area. Breakfast offerings are described as continental in style in the surrounding materials, with the possibility of a restaurant or dining room setting on site. This arrangement allows guests to start the day right without leaving the property. The restaurant and dining spaces are positioned as convenient places to enjoy light meals or coffee, providing a comfortable setting for conversations before or after a day of exploring. The emphasis here is on accessible, quality options that align with the hotel’s value oriented ethos while keeping you close to the attractions that inspired the stay in Sultanahmet. Family friendliness is a clear feature at Hotel Poem. The property welcomes guests of all ages with a family oriented policy framework that helps make travel with children simpler. The maximum number of guests per room is four, which keeps accommodations compact and manageable for families. There are clear rules about cots and extra beds and these are subject to availability. The policies outline that all children are welcome and provide details on pricing by age when using existing beds or extra beds. For the youngest guests, a cot may be free of charge depending on availability. For older children, pricing varies by age and by whether you use existing beds or request an extra bed. The structure intends to be transparent so families can plan ahead with a clear sense of what to expect in terms of costs and space. Pets are not allowed, WiFi is free in all areas, and the check in age is 18, with a flexible no curfew policy that invites guests to come and go as they please. Wellness and entertainment are approached with a practical and understated touch. The image collection includes references to spa and wellness facilities as well as hot tubs in the context of the property, signaling a wellness oriented mindset rather than a focus on large scale facilities. Guests can also enjoy shared spaces such as the lobby or reception where staff and fellow travelers gather to exchange tips and stories. Outdoor spaces are highlighted with mentions of balconies, terraces, a patio and a garden area, creating a sense of calm and opportunity to relax outdoors when weather permits. In this setting, evenings are made for gentle dining conversations, sunset reflections over the Bosphorus, and quiet downtime in comfortable rooms after a day of exploration. Who is Hotel Poem ideal for? This property is well suited to travelers who want a central, character filled base for Istanbul adventures. Culture lovers will appreciate the proximity to Istanbul’s iconic landmarks and the walkable access to the historic core.
