Superb location, close to the Castle and just a few steps from a bucketload of pubs and restaurants (and there is also a nice pub/restaurant at the hotel, with a decent number of items and reasonable prices). The staff were always friendly and helpful. It is a hostel, so don't expect all mod cons of a 5-star hotel. Our room was a tad bit small, but it was pristine clean, beds were comfortable -- would definitely stay there again.

Just off the Royal Mile, ability to store luggage before and after checking in/out, option for breakfast, great folks at the front desk, bed was very comfortable, bathroom was clean and the shower was very good.
