Really close to the train station, Claire and Andrew were very professional and friendly. We could not have asked for a better stay. There was a lovely view over the bay and The Mayfair is really close to the town and the harbour is a short walk. We will be back!

Andrew and Clare are so friendly and welcoming, you can tell they truly love what they do. Our sea view room was fantastic, very spacious and clean. The location could not be better. A good breakfast that sets you up for the day, and home made cake in the afternoon - what more could you want!

Great B&B in a wonderful location. Stayed for 4 nights and we were looked after by Andrew and Claire very well. As B&B`s go, it does not get any better than this.

Both Andrew and Claire were absolutely lovely. Andrew was so welcoming and helped us with parking and knew so much about the area and what was worth swing. The rooms were clean and nice. No issues whatsoever so ever. The breakfast was yummy and they had a really good selection of fruit, seeds, cereal, yogurt, ect… and a great cooked breakfast. Claire’s cake were recommended in other reviews. They are to die for. The location was fabulous, literally across the road to ten beach. There was also bench towels, wind breakers you could borrow from the b and b and they had an iron and ironing board facility. If I go back to Weymouth I would definitely stay there again.

Great location, very clean and comfortable room with daily cleaning. Claire and Andrew are lovely hosts who were always on site for help or recommendations. We enjoyed their fantastic home-cooked breakfast and the warm and welcoming atmosphere. Claire even baked cake for all the guests, which was a very pleasant and unexpected service!

About This Hotel

The Mayfair sits on Weymouth’s esplanade, a short stroll from the town’s shops and promenade. This historic Georgian townhouse, dating back to 1790, looks out over sandy Weymouth Bay and the World Heritage Jurassic Coastline. Its enviable position opposite the Jubilee Clock Tower makes it easy to step from your door into the seafront air and the activity of the town. The building preserves the character of an era when travel by coach and carriage was the height of sophistication, while the inside offers a quiet, refined base for discovering one of England’s most beloved seaside towns. From the moment you arrive you sense a refined, intimate atmosphere. The Mayfair is small in scale, with six individually styled rooms that invite you to linger and soak up the sea breeze. Public spaces are welcoming, with a lobby that leads to comfortable areas designed for relaxation after a day of exploring the coast. The photos of the property show a living room and a lounge area, suggesting a place to read, chat, or simply watch the activity along the Esplanade. The sense of place is clear: this is a hotel built to celebrate its coastal setting while offering practical comforts for modern guests. The beach is the star attraction here. Weymouth Bay stretches along the front and is easy to reach on foot, making early morning walks or sunset strolls a regular ritual. Many rooms offer views toward the water, so you can wake to the sound of the waves and the sight of the sparkling bay. The surrounding area is animated but not noisy, providing a perfect balance between seaside energy and a peaceful night’s sleep. Guests often choose The Mayfair for a long weekend escape or a short break to recharge while using Weymouth as a base for exploring the Jurassic Coast. Inside the hotel you will find a focus on comfort and simplicity. With six rooms, each space tends to be a reflection of the townhouse’s era while being practical for today’s travelers. The lodging is designed to be restful, with beds that promise a good night’s sleep after a day of walking the coast. The property’s photos highlight bedrooms that feel intimate and inviting, suggesting a place to unwind with soft lighting and quiet corners after a day outdoors. While not a large resort, The Mayfair offers a cozy experience that makes you feel at home the moment you step inside. Food and drink are woven into the experience. Breakfast is a key daily ritual and is highlighted by the presence of a dining area and buffet options in the photos. Guests can anticipate a straightforward, satisfying start to the day with a selection that suits a variety of tastes. The dining room setting is intimate, ensuring conversations can flow easily over a thoughtfully prepared morning meal. The presence of a restaurant or eating area in the images underlines the comfort of having accessible dining close to your room, ideal for guests who value convenience along with a seaside atmosphere. Family friendliness and practical details are clearly defined in the hotel’s policies. The Mayfair operates with a strict children policy, noting that children are not allowed and that the maximum occupancy per room is two guests. This makes it an excellent choice for couples or adult travelers seeking a quiet, grown up environment for a romantic break or a peaceful weekend away. The property also specifies a minimum check-in age of 18, reinforcing its character as a sophisticated retreat for adults. WiFi is available in public areas and is free of charge, a practical plus for guests who want to stay connected while enjoying the coastal scenery. There is a credit card requirement for booking, and there is no curfew for guests, offering a flexible, come-and-go experience that suits a relaxed seaside stay. The Mayfair is ideal for travelers who value location and character as much as comfort. If you are drawn to a historic home with sea views and a central Weymouth setting, this small, elegant property fits the bill. It is a superb base for couples and adults who want easy access to the sandy beach, long coastal walks along the Jurassic Coast, and the charm of a Georgian townhouse that has stood the test of time. The combination of a prime seafront position, a convenient distance to Weymouth’s attractions, and a focus on a calm, intimate stay makes The Mayfair a compelling choice for prioritizing atmosphere, views, and uncomplicated, quality hospitality.
