. We stayed in room 5. Views right across Weymouth . The bed was a super king size and so comfortable. Marine was a joy and treated us like old friends

We visited Weymouth for a party in the depths of winter; room was nice and warm. Room size typical for Guest Houses and fine for our two night stay. The décor feels like a labour of love with a multitude of features, each with their own history; it's quite overwhelming however and might not be to everyone's taste. We really liked it and if you can get the Hostess's attention, she will explain the history/meaning/story behind each. She also has a firm grasp of the English language, particularly some of the more colourful words; we were both in stiches and if you've got an hour to waste at the honesty bar, you'll not be bored. The whole of the interior is spotless; can't understand how it's kept that clean, but it is. We had breakfast on one of the days of our stay and it was perfect; nice size, great food, warm plate... Heaven! Bed the most comfy I've been in for a long time; we slept like logs until the alarm went off... Can't ask for more than that can you? Our hostess had actual milk ready for us on arrival and a mini fridge in the room to keep it cold.. How long is it since you had that in a hotel??? The location is fantastic, we'll go again and recommend it to you.

The property is beautifully decorated throughout with each room having a unique design. Everything was spotlessly clean and the bathrooms are like new. The owner met us upon arrival and was incredibly friendly….. breakfast the next morning was freshly prepared with good quality ingredients and really tasty. I would highly recommend Ocean Guest House.

Without a shadow of doubt the best guest house we've ever stayed at! Greeted with a lovely, warm welcome from the fabulous owner, Maxine, received a parking permit for the on street parking opposite so no parking charge. Entered our spotlessly clean room and were blown away by the quirky decor, everywhere you look there's something interesting. The room had everything we needed and more, even a box of things people often forget, shower gel, toothpaste etc. Spent the night in what was probably the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in! Woke to a delicious full English breakfast, fresh orange juice and a pot of tea. All in all, pretty damn perfect, could not find fault in anything and can not wait to return ❤️

Quirky and comfortable guesthouse near the harbour in Weymouth. The location was fabulous and Maxine was a great host. I had a lovely beach view from my room, the bed was comfy and the cooked breakfast was delicious. I enjoyed sitting in the sunshine on the deck outback with Tinkerbell the toy poodle sitting on my lap after breakfast. Highly recommended!

Maxine is a hostess with the most class she is warm inviting and an absolute vibe to be around. The house is absolutely immaculate and well decorated. The breakfast was absolutely stunning and well needed after a heavy night out. It’s also located close to town center and has stunning views.

We had a very comfortable room overlooking Weymouth Harbour. What impressed us was the little touches. There was a pair of binoculars which were well used seeing the boats come and go. That was also a small container of mince and a whole box of tissues not just for half a dozen they stuff in the top of the container in many chain hotels.

About This Hotel

The Ocean Guesthouse sits along Weymouth’s bustling Esplanade, housed in a Grade II listed building that adds character to every touchpoint of your stay. The location could hardly be more convenient for visitors who want to step from their door onto the harbourfront. Weymouth Harbour lies just ten metres away, a scene of boats, water and waterfront activity that is both calming and inspiring. The surrounding area is pedestrian friendly, with the promenade and nearby harbour views contributing to an unmistakable sense of coastal atmosphere. This is a property designed for guests who want to feel connected to the sea the moment they arrive. From the terrace you can drink in harbour views as the sun shifts across the water. The terrace is a place to unwind with a morning coffee or an evening drink while listening to the ambience of the harbour and watching the boats come and go. Inside the building a shared lounge provides additional space for relaxing, reading or catching up with fellow travelers. Free WiFi is available throughout the guesthouse, keeping you connected during your coastal escape. The guesthouse has nine rooms, each quietly comfortable and individually styled within the constraints and charm of a historic building. The general tone is practical and welcoming, with practical amenities designed to make your stay easy. The photos show well arranged bedrooms with generous beds and a seating area in many layouts, and you will often see river or sea views in the higher floor rooms. Some rooms feature kitchen or kitchenette facilities for guests who prefer a little self catering, while others rely on the on site lounge and dining spaces for meals. Each room is finished to support a good night’s sleep with fresh towels and thoughtful touches on offer. When it comes to food and drink, the property presents spaces that suit relaxed dining and social time. Photos highlight areas described as restaurant or lounge spaces and a variety of food and drink related tags, pointing to opportunities to enjoy meals or beverages within the building. In rooms that include kitchen facilities you can prepare light meals or snacks, while the on site common spaces encourage a casual cafe style experience for guests who prefer to dine in a flexible way. The overall impression is that this is a convenient base for seafood dinners along Weymouth’s waterfront and for exploring the coast at your own pace. This is a hotel that places a clear emphasis on adult travelers and couples seeking a tranquil escape. The hotel’s policies are explicit about who can stay. There is a minimum check in age of 18, and the property does not accommodate children or offer extra beds or cots. Pets are not allowed, and there is no on site curfew, which means you can come and go with ease. Public parking is available nearby and may require a reservation, with fees likely apply. The WiFi available in all guest rooms supports remote work or streaming after a day exploring the coast. For relaxation and entertainment, there are several options within the property. The harbour terrace is a highlight, providing an outdoor space to reflect on the day and to enjoy the harbour breeze. The shared lounge offers a cosy environment to unwind, while the variety of photo captions and room layouts in the gallery hints at spaces designed for social evenings, quiet reading and casual conversation. The overall effect is intimate and comforting rather than institutional, which suits travelers who prefer a boutique feel to a seaside stay. Who is this hotel ideal for? If you are after a small, characterful guesthouse with a waterfront address, The Ocean Guesthouse is an excellent choice. It suits couples looking for a romantic base on Weymouth Harbour, solo travelers who want a peaceful retreat with easy access to the coast, and guests who value historic charm alongside practical comforts. It is not designed for families traveling with children and appeals to adults who want a simple, unfussy, maritime experience with a touch of elegance and a strong sense of place.
