Gary and phil were fantastic hists for our stay at their fabulous hotel. Very clean, very comfy beds and a good shower. Lots of room and facilities within the room. The breakfast was great and nothing was ever to much trouble for gary & philip. The location is good, with a short walk to the marina, although there is a slight hill to walk up if you intend to walk back to the hotel. Taxi from the marina was £6.

The hosts and the breakfast. The furnishings and decor were also top class

Debbie 10.0

beautifully decorated and maintained, the most comfortable bed I have EVER slept in, and I really am like the princess and the pea. The breakfast was excellent and poached eggs cooked to perfection, and I was so impressed with all the effort made to minimise the use of plastic, such as fresh milk in insulated flasks to gave in room for coffee etc and breakfast items such as jams, butters being in dishes not plastic individually wrapped . a thoroughly enjoyable night in a place I will both return to and recommend 👌👍😀😍🧡💜🩵💙💛🫶👏

Phillip and Gary were honestly the best hosts. There wasn't anything they wouldn't help you with. The compact double was really just right! Decorated beautifully as well. The breakfast was incredible. The bar area was perfect. I imagine the outside area in the summer would be amazing, hopefully will sample this at the next earliest opportunity.

The boutique hotel was lovely. The interiors felt like you were in the Mediterranean. Breakfast was incredible. Our trip was in May, it’s December now — I still think about it!! Gary and Philip, the owners were so lovely and accommodating. They gave us wonderful tips on what to do and where to go. They had two beautiful dogs too!

The property balances classic charm with simple modern comforts, including free WiFi available throughout the building. A dining room and a bar in the lounge area provide inviting spaces for start-of-day meals or quiet evening conversations after a day of exploring the area. With 11 guest rooms, The Torcroft feels intimate and personal, drawing travelers who appreciate a calm, characterful setting rather than a large hotel footprint. Inside, the atmosphere is warm and inviting, reflecting its Victorian heritage while delivering comfortable accommodation. The hotel’s description emphasizes a villa style with thoughtful upkeep in its interiors, offering guests a traditional experience that is both comforting and stylish. The on-site lounge and communal spaces are designed for easy socializing or quiet relaxation, and the property’s interior layout supports a home away from home vibe that many travelers seek when visiting a historic town. Plenty of natural light, charming furnishings, and practical touches contribute to a sense of well being after a day on the road. The Torcroft stands out for its garden setting. Guests can enjoy the grounds and the outdoor seating areas, including patios and balconies visible in the property’s photo collection. The landscaped space invites morning coffee, afternoon reading, or a breezy evening stroll, creating a pleasant extension of the living space. The inclusion of garden views and seating areas shown across the photos highlights the property’s emphasis on outdoor enjoyment, even for guests who prefer to spend time quietly in a well-tended surrounding rather than venturing far afield. Room comfort is a key feature here. The property offers a range of bedrooms portrayed as inviting and comfortable, with images that emphasize beds, seating areas, and general bedroom ambiance. The decor leans toward a traditional yet refreshed aesthetic, blending period charm with everyday practicality. Several photos depict bedrooms designed for comfort and relaxation, with attention to cosy furnishings and a sense of privacy. While the data do not specify exact renovation details, the overall presentation suggests a well cared for and thoughtfully maintained interior, where guests can unwind after a day of sightseeing or business. Food and beverage options at The Torcroft center on a welcoming dining room and a lounge bar. Breakfast is a recurring theme in the hotel’s imagery, indicating a meal that starts the day on a satisfying note, typically served in the dining room. The lounge area with a bar offers a convenient spot for an evening drink or a light bite, inviting guests to linger and chat in a relaxed environment. The combination of a dedicated dining space and a lounge bar enhances the social fabric of the stay, making it easy to enjoy a quiet morning routine or a gentle, convivial atmosphere after dinner. For families and travelers, The Torcroft presents a clearly defined guest policy rooted in its boutique nature. The property accommodates a maximum of two guests per stay, with the communicated constraint that there is no capacity for extra beds or cots. Children older than 12 are welcome, which positions the hotel as a good choice for adults looking for a serene and intimate break rather than a large family vacation option. The bed count and room configuration are designed to support a peaceful, partner-friendly environment, ideal for couples celebrating anniversaries, weekend escapes, or a quiet retreat from everyday life. In terms of location and surroundings, The Torcroft focuses on providing a refined base from which to explore the area. The on-site parking is described as ample and convenient, easing the logistics of visiting with a vehicle. The property’s central but serene setting makes it easy to return to a comfortable base after daytime activities. Guests can look forward to a peaceful garden backdrop, a welcoming lounge, and a dining room that underscores the hospitality of a traditional B and B. Wellness and relaxation come through in the simple pleasures the property offers. The garden space, the quiet interior, and the chance to unwind in the lounge or bar create an atmosphere conducive to relaxation. While there is no mention of a spa or wellness suite, the overall ambience encourages restful evenings, gentle conversations, and a slower pace that many travelers seek when visiting a historic town. Entertainment comes in the form of comfortable social spaces, the charm of a Victorian villa, and the responsive service that a small, dedicated team can provide. Overall, The Torcroft is ideal for couples and solo travelers who value a refined and intimate boutique experience. It suits guests who appreciate classic architecture, well tended grounds, and a straightforward, welcoming approach to hospitality.
