Great place- the room was bigger than expected and the bedding was of excellent quality. Had a great night sleep. Very friendly staff and close to the city center (about 25 min walk). Would recommend!
Wè enjoyed everything
The young ladies who greeted us and served us breakfast were very lovely, welcoming and friendly. They were very informative and helpful. I really enjoy the guesthouse experience because it does feel homely and cosy which is exactly the vibe I like which is why I often choose family run guesthouses/B&B's over a hotel because I feel like you get a much more personalised experience. The breakfast was excellent - really lovely produce and perfectly cooked. It was exceptionally clean and really nicely presented, the location is really spot on - about a 20 minuite walk in to town down a leafy road.
George’s place was everything we expected the location was ideal within walking distance of the city centre shops bars restaurants the minster and everything we wanted for our 2 day stay thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast it was worth every penny would highly recommend George’s place we didnt
The room was incredibly spacious and clean. The location was in a nice area and close to the centre of town and a bus stop to get into town on. There was a lil welcome showbag and plenty of tea/coffee amenities and the shower was a bit fancy. Keep in mind, there are a lot of stairs if you're on the top floor, so be mindful if you have accessibility needs.
The location, great breakfast, nice, clean and pretty room, friendly staff, the friendly vibe.
Breakfast was excellent plenty of choices and delicious.Room was comfortable and very clean.
Location for the racecourse, the cleanliness was excellent, on site parking ( pity we had to pay extra for it). Alison who checked us in was super efficient and very kind and friendly.
Great location within a few minutes walk of the city centre. Clean and comfortable.
The breakfast (with superb Stornaway black pudding - Charley Barley's indeed - excellent local bacon, sausages etc) was probably the best I have ever had at any hotel around the world. Yorkshire tea - obviously! I couldn't understand why I seemed to be the only guest taking breakfast - the other guests missed a real treat! The warm welcome and the chats we had made for a lovely time.
Staff friendly and nice . Great breakfast. Made very welcome
lovely room, perfect location for the racecourse .
Comfy bed, great shower
Amazing staff and location, very friendly. Breakfast was amazing.
Excellent room with very comfortable bed. Staff were very helpful. Facility was nice with great back garden seating area. Light blocking drapes. Great shower.
The room was very clean with great facilities. The bed was comfortable and the bed linen and towels fresh. It was a great location being a small walk from York City centre
The room we stayed is was clean and very spacious, the staff where really nice. Will definitely be booking there again. Would like to see if all the other rooms were as nice as ours. Can’t wait to find out.
I think the ratings above indicate St. George's Place fully came up to expectation and if I come to York again next year I will come back to St. George's Place.
I loved the building and the decorations / furniture inside the room. While slightly away from the centre it is no problem to get there fast - I wish my stay was longer! The breakfast was very tasty, with good vegan options.
Location was ideal, just far enough out of town that it was a lovely walk into town, Room was fantastic and very big. Breakfast was amazing.
