Guest Reviews
Location, quality breakfast..
the self code entry was good I could come and go as i pleased without disturbing any body and leaving the room key in the inner entry box without fear of losing it. Plus the location was great because it was a few minutes walk to all the ementies i wanted to go to.
Loved the location, nice and close to the harbour and shops. The only thing I would say is that the shower power was not that great. Other than that, we loved our stay. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Messages to the owners were always answered straight away. Great communication . Would definitely recommend and stay here again
The lady who cooked breakfast was very pleasant and was happy to cook the large breakfast I asked for every day.
Lovely rooms and location! Staff were very welcoming and took the time to get to know us. Breakfast was cooked superbly. Already coming back in Jan!
Great location. Clean and comfy. Nice breakfast included in little basement dining area.

Location
Fab breakfast with plenty of my choice and they went over and above to cater to my special dietary requirements and I felt really well looked after. Fab location, great view to wake up to! Also quietest hotel ever, so peaceful, didnt even get woken up by other guests doors closing or TVs which is unusual!
About This Hotel
Bayliss Hall Guesthouse is a privately owned listed building dating back to the early 1800s. Perched on The Esplanade, this intimate guesthouse offers eight en suite rooms and a simple, welcoming base for a seaside break. The property preserves a sense of history in its façade and shared spaces, giving guests a tangible link to the town’s maritime past. The personal touch of a privately owned property shines through in the thoughtful, unpretentious feel that makes a Weymouth stay easy to settle into. From the moment you step outside the front door you are close to Weymouth Harbour, a lively corner where boats come and go and waterfront life unfolds. The guesthouse sits directly opposite the beach, with the shoreline only about 160 metres away. That proximity invites spontaneous strolls along the esplanade, sunset walks by the water, or a morning dip when the tides and weather align. The harbour and coast together create a distinctive seaside atmosphere that is as relaxing as it is quintessentially Weymouth. There is no on site pool, and that is part of the appeal for guests who want a straightforward, low key break by the sea. The immediate access to Weymouth’s renowned coastline remains a major draw. The nearby beach offers space to relax, with sand and pebbles to explore, and a welcoming ambience for families and couples alike. After a day by the water, return to the guesthouse to unwind in a quiet, comfortable environment that keeps the focus on the shoreline and the town’s maritime vibe. All eight rooms are en suite and designed with comfort in mind. The accommodation is characterised by simplicity and practicality, with free WiFi available to guests. The spaces are warm and compact, reflecting the building’s period origins rather than a modern renovation ethos. Guests can plan a compact, restful stay with essentials close at hand. The sense of history is an integral part of the experience, offering a backdrop for a relaxed seaside break rather than a high end contemporary vibe. Check in from 3 pm, with check out by 10 am, provides a relaxed rhythm for guests who want to explore Weymouth at their own pace. WiFi is available in some hotel rooms and is free of charge, making it easy to stay connected while you soak up coastal views. Public parking is possible nearby (reservation not possible) and charges may be applicable, allowing you to plan a day by the water without worrying about parking limits. The property welcomes children of all ages. The maximum number of guests is four, and there is one free child under 18 when using existing beds. There is no capacity for extra beds or cots. Bayliss Hall Guesthouse is ideal for travellers who value a historic setting, sea access and a simple, comfortable room base for a Weymouth break. It suits families seeking a budget friendly, flexible option with inclusive child friendly policy, couples looking for a convenient seaside stay near harbour and beach, and anyone who appreciates a quietly characterful property with easy access to Weymouth’s waterfront. The location makes it easy to enjoy waterfront views, stroll along the esplanade, and return to a cosy base that feels tied to the town’s heritage. Nearby Weymouth harbour area offers calm, pleasant walks, boats, and views that are ideal for day trips and sunset photography. While the guesthouse does not offer on site dining, guests are well placed to discover the local area and craft a seaside itinerary that suits their pace and interests. Bayliss Hall Guesthouse provides a dependable, authentic seafront option with character, comfort and a sense of place that makes a Weymouth holiday easy to plan and hard to forget.
