I stayed for 3 nights during a conference and the hotel was excellent. Quiet, well managed, friendly, clean. I can't comment on the breakfast which is meant to be amazing but I was leaving too early to experience it. However the lovely manager did put out a grab and go breakfast which was just perfect. It is set back from the front on one of Brighton's beautiful Georgian squares, but the sea is still right there. Recommend. Also recommend the Flour Pot cafe on the beachfront for coffee and toasties. And a dip in the sea. :)
I was allowed to leave my bag on the last day and collect later. And I was allowed into my room early when I arrived, simply hoping to drop my bag off. Breakfast was continental, with ham, boiled eggs, fish as well as cereals and yoghurt. I prefer cooked breakfast but I was able to do well with this. (I don’t eat cereal or toast) I asked for extra butter that they were happy to provide.
Brighton House is a lovely little B&B just off the Brighton beachfront. We had a lovely, spacious room, and the staff were really friendly - they kindly offered to run my ridiculous number of suitcases up to our room when we arrived, and always remembered how I like my coffee and toast in the mornings at the continental breakfast. It's in a great location for every must-do tourist hotspot in Brighton - walking along the seafront to the pier, visiting Brighton Art Gallery and browsing in the Lanes.
Super friendly staff and great location. Very clean and nice continental breakfast. Good selection of herbal teas in the room.
The location was perfect and I even had a partial view of the beach and could hear the waves in the wee hours of the night. The breakfast was continental but filling, and the room was comfortable. The staff also went out of their way to make things great.
An absolutely exceptional experience, from the second we walked through the door to the moment we left we were taken such good care of. Beautiful property, amazing location and staff that went above and beyond. Cannot recommend it highly enough, we will be comb back!
I booked a single room that came equipped with a kettle and tea/coffee, an iron and small ironing board, towels, a TV, and the Internet. Also, my own private bathroom. Everything matched my expectations, it was surprisingly quiet considering the location, and it was comfortable. The only reason I didn't give it a perfect score for "comfort" was just because I would have liked to have been able to control the temperature of the shower a bit more, but it was fine, and everything else was great. The staff are phenomenal, the breakfast was lovely, and they leave pastries and sometimes other things (like really lovely home-made cupcakes!) in the foyer, which came in very handy for me when I was getting back later in the night a bit peckish. Very friendly, accommodating, and helpful staff in a fantastic location.
The breakfast (just all the options! The homemade yoghurt and nuts and red berries!); the location; the ease of check out; all the herb tea in my room; having a hairdryer; the ironing board; and extra blanket.
The breakfast was excellent and the bed was really comfy. We travel often with my daughter and Brighton had the best offer from fresh seafood so far, which we really enjoyed :) The location of the hotel is excellent, you can walk easily everywhere from here,if you don't mind walking. .
A great welcome. Fantastic breakfast
Good location near the beach. No parking, but nearby car parks. Lovely staff, who even packed us a breakfast to go as we had an early flight. Clean rooms with tall ceilings for my tall husband. Good communication.
How open and clean the whole place felt. And how spacious the bedroom was.
A very pleasant hotel, right next to the British Museum. Friendly staff, spacious rooms with a small kitchenette, and the option of rooms facing the courtyard.
Small and friendly. Very quiet and in an excellent spot, right next to the sea front.
The best things were the location the stuff and the free breakfast. The stuff we're friendly and efficient and attentive. The location was ideal because it was near the sea and the promenade but only a few minutes walk to the city centre. The free breakfast was fantastic because it was healthy and the was a wide selection of food to choose from. Though was cereals fresh fruit yogurt Meats croissant's etc and also soft boiled eggs. All in all we thought the hotel was exceptionally good value. We would definitely stay there again.
What a find. Location was perfect for all the touristy stuff in Brighton, just opposite the Brighton 360i. Nice and quiet at night. All the staff were lovely, friendly and made you feel.welcome. The room was clean and bed comfortable. The bathroom was fresh with ample space to place your toiletries. Breakfast was continental, but a good selection of food and coffee was good. Would definitely stay again.
The location, the charm & the friendliness of the staff. Excellent choices for the buffet breakfast & the exceptionally comfortable bed
Beautiful place and excellent location. Carl was an excellent host, authentically welcoming, caring, warm, helpful, fun, simply excellent. The rest of the team was very kind and welcoming too, very attentive and helpful. Facilities were good (everything you might need including hairdryer, ironing board and iron all there and handy - bed was comfortable, location and views from balcony were lovely. I was also pleasantly surprised and grateful the central heating was on and available, easily adjustable for my room - as, despite being warm September days, the nights were pretty cold- so it was wonderful I could adjust room temperature at night time as needed.
Very cosy and nice I had the breakfast included and I was unable to be there due to my early start program and the owner prepare for me a little breakfast to have it on a go
Very clean and nice rooms and brilliant service overall. Everyone was very friendly and quickly dealt with a minor issue I had with my shower.
About This Hotel
Brighton House sits on Regency Square in the heart of Brighton, a historic address that carries its own story. This is a 200 year old listed building, a place where period charm meets modern guest expectations. The property consists of 15 rooms and a compact footprint that preserves the atmosphere of a classic seafront town house. Guests should note that there is no lift, and the stairs are a visible reminder of the building’s age. If stairs are challenging, this is a detail to consider before booking, but for many travelers the charm and character more than compensates for the absence of a lift. Location and surroundings are a key part of the Brighton House experience. The property fronts Regency Square, a historic setting that places you in the middle of Brighton’s lively atmosphere. The surroundings are rich with traditional architecture and a sense of timeless seaside charm. While the property does not advertise a private pool or expansive grounds, photos in the listing highlight the allure of the bedrooms and the building exterior, with some images suggesting sea view possibilities and garden view accents. For guests who want to soak up a classic coastal vibe, Brighton House provides a convenient base from which to explore the city on foot, with the seafront and local neighborhoods within easy reach. Room comfort and design are notable strengths. The house prioritizes comfortable accommodation within a historic framework. The rooms are shown with well arranged bedding, clean lines, and careful decorative details that nod to the property’s heritage. Bathrooms are equipped with a practical mix of showers and baths, with towels provided, and fixtures that reflect a clean, modern presentation. The overall approach emphasizes restful interiors that invite relaxation after a day of exploring the city. Given the building is listed and features traditional stair access, the interiors lean toward a charming, old world atmosphere rather than a contemporary high rise, which many guests appreciate for its authenticity and character. A thoughtful approach to food and drink is evident. Continental breakfast is featured in the property’s visuals and is commonly offered to guests as part of the stay. The presence of a dining area and references to restaurant or dining options within the property suggests that meals are a simple, delightful part of the Brighton House experience. For guests who enjoy starting the day with a substantial, easy going breakfast, this is a convenient option. The photos also show decorative and culinary details that hint at a hospitable, personable breakfast service rather than a large hotel buffet, which can feel more intimate and relaxed. Family friendliness and guest policies are clearly outlined to help travelers plan ahead. The property makes its occupancy limits explicit, noting a maximum of two guests per room. There is no capacity for extra beds or cots, and the policy indicates that children older than 12 years are welcome. This makes Brighton House a particularly attractive option for couples or smaller groups who value a quiet, characterful base with a refined atmosphere. The absence of on site pets is stated, and WiFi is available in all areas at no additional charge, which is a practical plus for travelers who need to stay connected. Relaxation, wellness, and entertainment aspects are gentle but meaningful. The historic setting itself offers a calm, intimate backdrop that can feel soothing after a day of sightseeing. While the listing does not advertise spa facilities or extensive wellness programs, the comfortable rooms, quiet corridors, and curated decor contribute to a sense of ease and leisure. Entertainment options are likely to come from the surrounding Brighton scene, as the property sits in a convenient locale for enjoying shops, cafés, and cultural highlights nearby. Practical details that help guests prepare for their stay are clear throughout the listing. Check in is available in the evening hours, and guests are advised to plan accordingly given the lack of a lift. Public parking is available nearby for a fee, which provides a sensible solution for those who arrive by car. The proximity to the local area means guests can explore on foot and minimize transit time, a factor many holidaymakers weigh when choosing a central, historic property like Brighton House. Who this hotel is ideal for becomes evident as you weigh the numbers and the atmosphere. If you are traveling as a couple or in a small group who appreciates characterful architecture, period interiors, and a central Brighton location, this is a strong match. Guests who are comfortable with stairs and who want a historic property with nods to the past will likely feel at home here. For families, note the policy that refers to older children and the lack of space for extra beds or cots. Those who want free reliable WiFi, continental breakfast, and a practical, well presented base from which to explore Brighton will find Brighton House a satisfying choice. In short, this is an ideal setting for travelers who value location, heritage, and a thoughtfully curated small property where attention to detail and guest comfort remains at the forefront.
