Loved the breakfast in bed and the restaurant was amazing. Also the gluten free options were some of the best I’ve had and they had adapted so many options, including the amazing breakfast. Just sad to hear you’re closing!

Very well prepared information upfront per e-mail. Nice and tidy room in a historical building. Location next to the cathedral. Nice idea to have the breakfast in the room. Unfortunately, we had to leave too early to do so.

Great, original breakfast with amazing ground coffee, artisanal sourdough, rhubarb & ginger jam. Fab location near Glasgow necropolis, where I walked before going about my work day. Lovely design touches in the room, shower, lotions and potions.

About This Hotel

Cathedral House sits in Glasgow’s historic Cathedral Quarter, a short stroll from the city’s iconic cathedral. The address is 28-32 Cathedral Square, G4 0XA, and the building is a 19th century Scottish Baronial style residence that has been beautifully converted into a boutique hotel. The result is a refined space where period character sits alongside modern comfort. This is a property designed for travelers who value history, privacy, and a distinct sense of place rather than a generic city stay. Location and surroundings: The Cathedral Quarter is one of Glasgow’s most characterful corners, with narrow lanes and historic facades that invite exploration. Being next door to the Glasgow Cathedral, Cathedral House offers a unique sense of arrival and a tranquil base from which to discover central Glasgow. The neighborhood combines quiet streets with easy access to cultural sights, cafes, and convenient transport links, making it ideal for both short breaks and longer city stays. Rooms and renovation: The seven guest rooms are set within the former Baronial building, which has been sensitively renovated to preserve architectural details while introducing contemporary comforts. Expect well proportioned spaces, warm lighting, and tasteful fabrics that echo the building’s heritage. The overall feel is intimate and refined, with a focus on comfort and a personal touch rather than mass appeal. Room features and photos: The image collection highlights comfortable beds and well presented bathrooms, while small details such as coffee and tea facilities in the living areas hint at a convenient home away from home. The photos reveal the character of each room and how finishes reflect the building’s historic roots. This is a place where guests can rest in a quiet environment after a day of exploring the city. Food and beverage: Breakfast options are represented in the images, including continental choices that suit different itineraries. While Cathedral House does not publish a restaurant on site, guests can enjoy a simple, flexible morning start and then explore nearby cafes and eateries in Glasgow’s historic centre. The focus here is on quality and simplicity, ensuring a relaxed start to the day before setting out to see the city. Family friendliness and activities: Cathedral House offers an intimate, seven room setting that appeals to couples and small groups seeking a boutique experience with a strong sense of place. The calm pace and careful service suit travelers looking for a personal stay rather than a large resort. With its central location and historic ambience, it is well suited to guests who want to immerse themselves in Glasgow’s culture, architecture, and old town charm. Relaxation and guest experience: Wellbeing comes from a serene atmosphere in a city center location, with easy access to Glasgow’s cultural offerings. While there is no on site spa or pool advertised, the surroundings provide abundant opportunities for walking tours, galleries, and dining experiences. The property carries a strong guest reputation, reflected in a high rating and thousands of reviews that discuss location, comfort, and value. Check in from 14:00, check out by 12:00, and a credit card is required at booking. Cathedral House invites you to step into Glasgow’s history while enjoying a refined, personal stay in a superb central setting.
