Guest Reviews
Lovely entrance hall to the building, and very nice Victoriana styling in the bedrooms, with a modern twist. Breakfast choice was excellent. Lovely full Scottish and large cafetiere of coffee when down a treat.
Great location. Lovely decor. Very comfortable.
Tommy is a wonderful host. We didn't want to stay in a bland, identikit hotel room and this was perfect - individual, quirky and fun but also very comfortable and brilliantly located. We couldn't fault the wonderful full Scottish breakfast and the numerous extras (from Scotch pancakes to mini peanut butter servings). Thank you
Delightfully quirky guest house. Walls are full of art. As mentioned in other reviews, breakfast dining is “cozy” but also makes for a unique experience. Was able to store my luggage, which was definitely a bonus. A short walk to the Botanic Gardens. Tommy and his breakfast-serving friend (sorry, I don’t know your name!) were gracious and accommodating.
Very central. Close to transportation.Lots of bars and restaurants nearby.Easy walking to all the downtown Edinburgh sites.Tommy was a lovely host.Very friendly and knowledgeable. There was a large selection for breakfast which was delicious.
Lovely hotel with loveliest hosts, and great placement in the city! 👍
Beautiful room. Lovely clean bright bathroom. Great breakfast.
This guest house was definitely looking a bit tired. We were happy with our stay here and it suited our needs but I think it was overpriced. Unfortunately Edinburgh is extremely expensive so I suppose that was to be expected.
Very pleasant and informative host. Quirky decorated, especially the breakfast room. Bedrooms are a good size, clean and tidy, ensuite bathroom was on the small side but functional. Hot breakfast freshly prepared to your requirements. Buffet options available and plentiful choice. Located a short direct walk to Edinburgh's Princess Street. Lots of artisan shops, bars and eateries close by the guest house. Cannot fault it. Highly recommend it.
The decor and furnishing was beautiful, eccentric, tasteful, very Scottish and historic. Our host was very friendly and helpful throughout and actively sorted some problems of our own making. Breakfast excellent!
Breakfast was very nice. Staff friendly. Short 10 min walk to the centre with but also curry house and bars and couple of minutes walk away. Overall it was a lovely stay.
It was an interesting quirky hotel with imaginative decor.
Very welcoming. Good size room. Nice breakfast
Lots of character, very clean n tidy. Polite staff. In room coffee and tea. Very good shower. No frills breakfast suited me, ample cereals, yogurt, bread and fruit and a full Scottish to order if desired.
We stayed whilst visiting the Fringe. The location was really good, around a 10 minute walk to the playhouse, albeit up a relatively steep climb! It was nice to be tucked away from hustle and bustle. Our room was quite compact, but had everything a couple visiting fringe required, namely a comfy bed! Tom was a fantastic host and his breakfasts were worth the stay alone! The decor was also very inkeeping with the Fringe vibe whilst celebrating everything great about Scotland.
Very welcoming hosts, comfortable room, great breakfast, located in a residential area but still close to the city centre
The host was very kind and they serve a wonderful breakfast in a charming dining room. The room was clean and quiet and it had all the amenities we needed. The bathroom had been updated and it was nicely done.
Breakfast! The owner and his small team were very helpful.
