Guest Reviews
The location was amazing and Murray (the owner) was so kind and helpful
Lovely place, lovely breakfast (and breakfast room!), very nice and welcoming host. I had only a short, two days stay before travelling on to the Highlands, but really good advice from the host helped me make the most of it. It was just like coming home to an old friend. If I ever come back to Edinburgh, I know where to stay!
The location was right for my onward journey. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and a very good breakfast was served.
The location is great - very near Waverley Station, Princes Street and St Andrews Square. The hotel was very quiet despite the city centre location. Very welcoming and helpful host - Murray. It's a 3 star guesthouse so it doesn't have all the amenities of a 5 star hotel, but it is very good value for money, comfortable, clean and bang in the city centre. We were given a key to the front door so could come and go as we pleased. A full Scottish breakfast is included in the price.
Lots of Information from Murray who was very welcoming and friendly. Lovely room and comfy bed. Really nice room to eat breakfast in and good choices for food. Accommodating when it came to leaving bags before check in and after check out
The hotel was beautiful and very clean. The breakfast was excellent, and the location was perfect — close to everything we needed. Highly recommended!
Murray was an exceptional host. Location with regards to train station was very good. Murray helped us with dinner recommendations which was excellent. Breakfast was outstanding.
The host Murray is kind, helpful, and witty.
The staff was great, friendly and welcoming. The emplacement in the town was perfect, close to everything. The breakfast was very good ne served in a beautiful room.
Location was perfect for us as within walking distance from Waverley Station - approx 5/10 mins. Lovely to explore the Old Town area. Warm welcome from Murray who gave us all the relevant information for our stay. We had our own front door key to come & go as we pleased. Breakfast was excellent. Good selection of cereals, fruit, yogurts & juices. Cooked food to order and served to the table. Bedroom was ok & newly fitted en-suite. Room was also quiet at rear of property. Thank you Murray & “Team Murray.”
breakfast was wonderful. I will be staying with you again in March 2026.
Murray is an excellent host! The breakfast menu is extensive and entirely homemade by the host and staff. The location is right in the heart of Edinburgh, and our room was nice and cozy. Totally recommended for a stay in this beautiful city!

Very cute
Loved the place. A bit noisy but the atmosphere and the host were amazing.
From the moment we arrived, Ozzy (Murray) helped us with our cases and was very informative. The guest house was near absolutely everything - shops, restaurants and bars. The breakfast was spot on and such a lovely family. We will be back!
Lovely room and breakfast was excellent.
An ideal location right in the heart of Edinburgh. This charming, cosy little hotel has a wonderfully warm and homely atmosphere — it almost feels like staying at your grandma’s place. The breakfast was freshly prepared and surprisingly good for a hotel of this price point. The manager, Murray, was exceptionally helpful and knowledgeable about the city. Be sure to ask him for recommendations, no matter what you’re planning to do!
