Guest Reviews
Pre booked breakfast set us up for the day with an early start for the bus to the city centre, ready for a day visiting the fringe, international festival and the Tattoo.
Thin walls.
Great location, delicious breakfast, hospitable hosts
Easy to find, not far from bus stop straight into the city centre, comfortable bed, TV apps all working. Overall very cosy and easy to relax in.
Location with off road parking Friendly lovely owner. Room Cleanliness and good hot shower Would recommend the Excellent scrambled eggs for breakfast Can come and go as you wish
I stayed at this little gem during the Festival in August 2024. The location is in a quiet, tree lined street, away from the festival crowds but a short bus ride or easy half-hour walk into town. The small but comfortable and clean single room was well appointed and had a lovely ensuite bathroom. The continental breakfast I ordered was just what I needed to start the very busy, fun festival days and was promptly delivered by Stuart with a friendly “Good Morning”. Hosts Kathryn and Stuart were very helpful, friendly and attentive but not intrusive. I highly recommend Falcon Crest Guest House and would stay here again should I find myself in Edinburgh at the best time of year to visit - the festival, it’s so much fun!
The Guest House is located on a street lined with gorgeous old homes. Getting there from various bus stations and walking down the road surrounded by the type of buildings that people travel to Edinburgh for sets up the perfect start to a holiday. Kathryn was an incredible hostess who offered helpful travel tips and great chat. The room was impeccably clean and all the information about the stay was neatly laid out in writing (as someone who likes instructions this was a major bonus). The bed was incredibly comfortable and the window seating allowed me to stare out the window and enjoy the views of the neighbourhood.
As other guests have already described, the breakfast was very tasty and you could choose what you wanted to have the next day. The hosts were also extremely charming and polite. We particularly appreciated the fact that check-in and check-out were so easy, even though our arrival and departure times were not particularly convenient. We liked the location close to the sea and the botanical gardens.
Lovely quiet residential part of Edinburgh, yet only a short bus/taxi trip to the centre. Our favourite part is definitely the hosts! Very attentive, approachable, friendly, you name it! It felt like staying with a family member.
Kathryn and Stuart were excellent hosts. If you want to experience Scottish hospitality this place is definitely the one. The rooms are clean and equipped with everything you need for your stay. They also had a kettle, tea, coffee, sugar and shortbread biscuits in the room and fresh milk was also provided. The location is fantastic with easy access to public transportation and the neighborhood is residential and quiet.
Lovely quiet area with easy access to city by bus. I had an attic room with ensuite in this beautifully decorated and maintained period house.
Breakfast was incredible! Big shout-out to Kathryn's husband for bringing breakfast all the way to our room even though it's on the third floor They were both super kind!
On a bus route Friendly hosts Very tidy Great breakfast
Beautiful room and lovely shower room although we were on the top floor and after a day of tramping around the fringe they were a struggle lol.
The hosts were really friendly and helpful and made sure everything was fine for us.
Our hosts, Katherine and Stuart were excellent. They were friendly welcoming and very helpful. They made Falcon Crest seem like a second home. The breakfast was very good and plentiful. It was very clean and the location in a nice part of Edinburgh close to transportation was great Lovely view of the backyard gardens.
Absolutely lovely hosts, close to the historic centre. Just a 20 minutes walk.
Our expectations were exceeded. The couple who run the guest house were very accommodating, friendly, attentive and always available for a chat. They provided information for excursions and restaurants. The breakfast was delicious and could be customized. When we asked for a breakfast package for a day trip and we had to leave early, they even brought it to us in the city. Many thanks again for that. The accommodation was in a quiet residential area, between the harbor/pier and the city center. It was nice to come back after a day in the busy city center. Good connections. About 10 minutes by foot to the bus. And from there to the city about 15 min. Buses run regularly. We really enjoyed it and would come back anytime.
Guest house is run by a sweet old couple. The couple was extremely helpful and friendly, I have honestly never came across such lovely host in my past airbnb stays. The room we stayed in was very clean and exceeded our expectations.
The best stay and the most amazing hosts Everything was nice: breakfast, room, and location. We will come back again.
