Guest Reviews
It was very close to the mosques and Topkapki Palace.
Great continental breakfast Staff were excellent, carried bags to room, suggestions to visit, arranging transportation. Restaurant was excellent, staff great.
We had a wonderful stay at this lovely boutique hotel, which makes you feel comfortable the moment you step inside. We were warmly welcomed and even received an upgrade for one of our rooms. The staff are incredibly friendly and always ready to help — especially Elvin, who contacted us right after our reservation and kindly assisted with parking arrangements, sightseeing tips, and the extra activities we booked through the hotel (a hammam experience and a dinner cruise on the Bosphorus). The location is perfect — just a 5–10 minute walk from the Blue Mosque, making it ideal for exploring Istanbul’s historic area. Our rooms were cozy, beautifully furnished, and even had a small balcony with a sea view. Breakfast was excellent, with a wide variety of both hot and cold dishes. We also enjoyed a lovely dinner at the hotel restaurant, located in the garden, offering delicious traditional Turkish cuisine, We would absolutely recommend this hotel and will definitely return on our next trip to Istanbul!
Lovely location, close to the main attractions and beautiful rooms.
Location, friendly and preeparred staff with perfect English, amazing breakfast and dishes, really noce location. I really recomme d to choose Garden House Hotel or Garden1897 Reataurant if You are planning to spend time in Istanbul
Amazing location, a walking distance from main places to visit. Beautiful environment in the garden area, super magical! Rooms were spacious and clean, maybe a bit outdated but super comfortable! We even got upgraded <3
Lunch by Liza, and Breakfast was amazing. The receptionist and uncle who always stand by the main entrance to welcome was very welcoming .
Excellent location and helpful staff
They were very pleasant with us and gave us a lot of recommendations. The location is great and all is very clean. Besides the restaurant of the hotel is very nice.
The staff and their help with tours, the hotel's restaurant, and the great location of the hotel
Overall a very pleasant little hotel. Staff are helpful. Restaurant is amazing.
Great location, friendly, kind and helpful staff. Great courtyard restaurant and lovely room for breakfast with lots of choice overlooking the garden.
Great location. Very friendly and welcoming staff.
Quirky, great atmosphere and friendly. Our room was spacious and full of character - a traditional old home feel. The restaurant is excellent, serving well cooked interesting Turkish dishes.
Very quaint and clean hotel in a great location to visit the old city. Our room was spacious and the staff is helpful and welcoming. There is a lively restaurant with a cute outdoor garden area (no rooftop); the food is delicious and Riz is an exceptional waiter.
Staff are their greatest asset. Extremely customer friendly, outgoing and helpful. They helped plan the trip, make bookings that were perfect. I would highly recommend and would come stay again.
Really good value and great staff! The budget room we had was as expected but considering the price we were really happy.
The garden, the staff, the food, the balcony, the room.
A lovely small hotel with excellent service We felt completely at home in this charming, small hotel. The incredibly friendly and helpful staff truly made our stay special – you can tell that hospitality is a top priority here. Breakfast was very good and the perfect start to the day. The rooms are cozy, and although the bathroom is a bit dated, the warm atmosphere and attentive service more than make up for it – any small issues were quickly and kindly taken care of. The location is just perfect: quiet, yet ideal for exploring Istanbul. A big thank you to the whole team – we’d love to come back!
Lovely staff, historic character hotel, handy location but fairly quiet and a nice restaurant when you can’t be bothered going out

About This Hotel

This is a place where mornings begin with the soft light of the city and afternoons invite you to wander through centuries of history without ever feeling rushed. Garden House offers 45 rooms that are described as elegant and airy. The design nods to its Ottoman heritage, while the room layouts are crafted to feel generous and comfortable. Surrounded by walnut trees, it provides a tranquil outdoor space to sip coffee, linger over a meal, or simply unwind at the end of a busy day. Dining options within the property are positioned to be convenient for travelers who want to enjoy a meal close to their room or garden terrace after a day of discovery. Family friendliness is a clear strength here. The property welcomes children of any age, and the on-site policies help families plan their stay with confidence. Details in the policy section note that the maximum number of guests per room is three, and that cots and extra beds are subject to availability. There is flexibility for families, including a note that one child up to three years old can stay free when using available cots, and an expressed policy that one additional bed is allowed at most. For families continuing to travel with kids, the hotel’s approach is practical and accommodating. Relaxation and wellness options appear in the visual material associated with the hotel. A dedicated spa and wellness facility tag appears among the image set, signaling that guests can pursue refreshing experiences on site. In addition to these wellness references, the surrounding area offers plenty of cultural stimulation, markets, and cafes that contribute to a balanced vacation rhythm: days spent exploring ancient sites, afternoons on the terrace, and evenings enjoying Turkish hospitality in nearby eateries. Entertainment and activities here are anchored in the neighborhood. Sultanahmet is a UNESCO-historic district filled with mosques, museums, and atmospheric streets. Guests can plan flexible itineraries that combine guided tours with more leisurely moments on the garden terrace or in a quiet guest room. The neighborhood is rich with shops, galleries, and traditional eateries, inviting guests to experience Istanbul’s living culture at a comfortable, walkable pace. This hotel is ideal for a range of travelers. Culture lovers and first-time visitors will appreciate the close proximity to Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, and other historic highlights. Couples seeking a refined, intimate retreat will enjoy the mansion ambiance and the serene garden setting. Families will find accommodating policies that support a comfortable stay for parents and children alike. And for guests who value a quiet, restorative base in a bustling city, Garden House offers a peaceful urban retreat with thoughtful touches inside a historic shell.
