Beautiful building, super central galata area so close to everything with coffee shops, cough, cafés restaurants, galleries all walking distance. Exceptional views over Istanbul including a beautiful roof terrace and balconies on the rooms. Service exceptional from all of the staff

This is a beautiful boutique hotel in a renovated 200 year old building. If you're wanting a genuine Turkish hospitality experience, this hotel is perfect. The staff were delightful and are very proud of their hotel, and want to ensure you have a wonderful stay. We dined at the rooftop restaurant upon arriving, and the views did not disappoint. It was breathtaking, and the staff were helpful and attentive, without rushing us or being intrusive. The location is perfect for the Galata Tower, and Galata and Beyoglu districts, which is full of clothing, arts and crafts, and the usual handbag/tourist stores, as well as many cafe's, restaurants, bars and even an Irish pub! There is a general store across the road, should you desire fresh fruit or other cravings. We enjoyed the exercise and its benefits, walking down the traditional, cobble stone footpaths and roads to the bridge across the Bosphorus to the more tourist heavy sites and hotspots. We were also happy to return to Galata, which tended to be less crowded. Our room (19) was large and our bed was comfortable, with great water pressure in the shower. The view was spectacular and we spent quite a bit of time on the balcony soaking up all the sights and the constant activity on the Bosphorus. The area lost power for a couple of hours, however their generator kicked in, and as my husband was working periodically, they offered their personal WIfi if it was needed. We were greeted every time we departed and returned, and they even took it upon themselves to contact our driver picking us up, to ensure smooth collection. We had a lovely stay at Georges. Beautiful hotel, very kind staff and good location.

The staff is absolutely EXCEPTIONAL I have never seen people so hands on in my life. The taxi driver I had booked to take me to the airport was 40mn late and traffic was getting worse by the second, they realized I wasn’t going to make it so the manager literally took me there with his own car and did not let me pay even if I begged. The staff is the only reason I made it to my flight. Book this hotel with no hesitation, the owner is the nicest, exceptional staff - great food - beautiful functional rooms and very cosy hotel.

We had a wonderful week at Georges and couldn’t be happier with our choice of hotel. Everything was perfection: ideal location in a quiet, characterful street close to the iconic Galata Tower; the historic hotel building itself was beautifully renovated and very elegant, the room decor so stylish and the bed unbelievably comfortable (our room was very spacious and we loved sitting on our large balcony looking out over the rooftops); the beautiful rooftop bar with a panoramic view of the Bosphorus and excellent cocktails; the magnificent resident hotel cat Lollipop. And above all our stay was so good because the staff were exceptional, so friendly and helpful and in particular gave us some excellent restaurant recommendations. It was our first visit to Istanbul and we absolutely fell in love with the city and can’t wait to return. And we would not hesitate to stay at Georges again. Next time for sure we would be tempted to book the panoramic suite on the upper floor with an incredible view over the Bosphorus which we were very surprisingly upgraded to for one night on the evening we arrived. Hotel located in a very beautiful location, walking distance to Galata Tower square. Beautiful streets, nice neighborhood, few minutes to Galata Port.

Amazing view from the sea view room! The rooftop restaurant had a fantastic view and the food was superb. The location is perfect. Lastly, but most importantly, the staff were the best! So helpful and always wanting the best for your stay!

We loved our room over looking rooftops and the Bosphorus. The views from our balcony and bedroom were beautiful. Location is fantastic. We loved the streets surrounding the hotel - really bohemian and eclectic. 5 minutes walk to Istaklal street if you prefer mainstream shopping. Turkish breakfast on the top floor was perfect. Staff were very warm, friendly and accommodating. Loved the ambiance of the hotel and the Aperol spritz’s were the best. Still had the bubbles - so many barmen get it wrong. But theirs were exactly how they should be. - bubbly and refreshing after a long day of sightseeing. Last times visiting istanbul we stayed at The Four Seasons and Kempinski. As beautiful as those hotels are - they lack the charm, the warmth and authenticity of Georges Hotel Galata.

Hotel Georges Galata was the perfect home base for our time in Istanbul. The location couldn’t be better — just steps from the Galata Tower and a few minute walk to the tram, which made it easy to get to the historic sites in Sultanahmet. We loved the nearby local restaurants, and the fact that we could often spot the Galata Tower from around the city made it easy to find our way back. The hotel's rooftop restaurant was a real highlight — peaceful, with an amazing view of the Bosphorus. It was the perfect spot to unwind with a nightcap after a day of exploring. The staff were all incredibly kind and helpful throughout our stay. We didn’t book a room with a balcony or Bosphorus view and kind of wish we had — our room was still comfortable, and the bed was great. The windows blocked out all outside noise, which was a nice surprise in such a lively area. The bathroom layout could have been a bit better, but everything was clean and stocked with lovely Atelier Rebul toiletries. Also, a small but memorable detail — the hotel smelled amazing! And of course, there’s Lollipop — the hotel’s beautiful resident cat. Sweet with guests but an absolute diva compared to the other local cats. Lollipop knows he/she is elite and living the good life at Hotel Georges.
