The breakfast is great. If you like a a traditional, clean and cosy place to stay, this is ideal.

Beautiful little boutique hotel right in the centre of everything. Views were awesome and staff so welcoming and friendly. Great breakfast.

Kate 9.0

Great location for the old town and seafront - but poor location in respect of the noise (it was very noisy until the early hours). Great staff, really friendly and chatty. Lovely character in the hotel and room. Nice little balcony with sea view and sun in the afternoon evening. Fresh and tasty breakfast. Some issues due to location but it was still a nice olace to stay and good to be able to wander the town day or evening.

Ronald 9.0

This charming boutique hotel is truly a gem. The furniture and decor are elegant, reflecting thoughtful attention to detail. The husband-and-wife owners are passionate about their business and provide exceptional service, complemented by the helpful and polite night clerk. The daytime clerk was equally outstanding, offering invaluable information that enhanced our stay. Breakfast was a highlight, featuring a delicious assortment of local produce. Convenient parking is available nearby. While the windows face a bustling street, the cheerful nighttime ambiance surprisingly doesn’t disrupt a good night’s sleep. The staff went above and beyond by recommending and arranging a fantastic tour for us. Overall, a delightful experience!

Kilian 9.0

A very nice historical small hotel in the heart of Cannakale (the city's oldest hotel in fact). Very convenient location near the ferry, shops and museums. Cozy rooms and nice breakfast. The staff has been the great highlight of my stay, with a very helpful owner and night receptionist. They did everything to cater my needs, helped me rent a car and provided great conversation.

Ken 9.0

Breakfast was very tasty. The area is very central. It is right opposite a nightclub but I fell asleep as soon as head was on the pillow each night. Used the reasonably priced laundry service. Staff were really helpful. It helped that several spoke English VERY well.

Excellent breakfast. And the building has lovely period charm!

Laurel 8.0

Excellent location. A little noisy at night but that’s because it’s in a central location so it didn’t bother us. Parking is right across the street - very easy to get to. Lovely views. Very attentive staff. Good breakfast.

This little boutique hotel is beautiful. The furniture and decor are superb. The husband and wife who own and run the hotel are very passionate about their business and do a great job. The night clerk was also very helpful and polite.

About This Hotel

Hotel Des Etrangers sits in a historic stone building on Canakkale’s promenade. Its architecture blends Ottoman and Greek influences, giving the property a distinctive facade that feels timeless yet welcoming. The atmosphere inside reflects this character with intimate spaces and thoughtful touches that celebrate a coastal town vibe. The house is small and personal, boasting only four rooms which makes it an ideal choice for travelers who value a calm, boutique style experience rather than a large hotel experience. The location is its core appeal, placing you right along the Canakkale waterfront where the views and the sense of being part of the seafront life are immediate. The hotel’s seafront setting is perfect for guests who want to step outside and enjoy easy walks along the promenade. The sound of the water and the sight of boats on the horizon create a soothing backdrop for a holiday or a short break. Whether you arrive in the morning or after sunset, the waterfront atmosphere brings a sense of place that is often missing in larger, more anonymous properties. Inside the property you will find a focus on comfort that matches the historic exterior. Rooms are designed to be welcoming and practical, with attention to the small details that make a stay more relaxing. Some rooms feature a balcony or terrace, offering the option of a private outdoor space with sea or city views. The presence of a balcony or terrace means you can start the day with a fresh outlook or unwind after a day of sightseeing with a quiet moment in the fresh air. The bed setup shown in the photos points to comfortable sleeping arrangements that are well suited to couples or small families traveling together. While the hotel is compact, the layout is efficient and designed for ease of access to each guest room. Dining and social spaces are a noteworthy part of the experience. The property includes an on site restaurant and a lounge or bar, both designed to complement the historic setting. The on site dining options provide a convenient way to enjoy a meal without leaving the property, while the lounge area offers a relaxed space to unwind with a drink or a light bite after a day exploring Canakkale. The combination of a welcoming restaurant and a comfortable lounge creates a simple, enjoyable framework for social meals or quiet evenings in a charming location. For families and groups, the hotel provides policies designed to suit smaller gatherings while preserving the guest experience. The family friendly approach means children of any age are welcome. The property sets a practical cap on group size, with a maximum of three guests per booking, which supports a quiet and manageable environment for everyone. Cots and extra beds are subject to availability, and there is no general capacity for additional beds in every option. Specific rules note that one child up to five years old can stay free when using existing beds, and one child up to two years old can stay with a cot for a small fee. These policies offer a clear framework for families planning a stay and help avoid surprises at check in. Wellness and entertainment are accessible through the property’s common spaces. A welcoming library and a communal lounge or TV room provide opportunities to relax, read, or socialise in comfortable surroundings. The lobby and reception areas are designed for easy check in, with a friendly atmosphere that makes arrival smooth and straightforward. The seafront location is the backdrop for a relaxed pace, making the hotel feel like a home base from which to explore the town and coast without sacrificing comfort or a sense of place. The surrounding landscape and natural beauty contribute to a sense of calm that many travelers seek on holiday. Location is the key here. Kemal Pasa Mah Yali Caddesi No 25 27 places you in a central, accessible part of Canakkale with the coast and water close at hand. The property lies within a region that includes both natural landscapes and city views, offering a variety of perspectives on the area. Guests can enjoy the quiet charm of a seaside promenade while still having convenient access to local sights, dining options nearby, and friendly, uncomplicated transport links for exploring further afield. This hotel is ideal for travelers who want a refined, intimate stay with a strong sense of place. History enthusiasts will appreciate the building’s authentic character and the blending of architectural influences. Couples looking for a calm, scenic base for a short break will find the setting easy to enjoy, with sea views, a convenient on site dining option, and comfortable rooms that feel like a private retreat. Families with up to three guests will also appreciate the compact, well organised space and the practical, well explained policies that simplify planning. In short, Hotel Des Etrangers offers a distinctive Canakkale experience with the charm of a historic building, the beauty of a waterfront location, and the convenience of on site dining and relaxing social spaces. If you value a boutique atmosphere, a genuine sense of place, and a seafront setting that is easy to reach and enjoyable to explore, this property is a compelling choice.
