Guest Reviews
Modest breakfast. But about the hotel.... A great delight! Mehmet, the one who welcomed us, proved to have an exceptional character — honest, empathetic, and altruistic. He was one of the very few truly genuine people I have met. The hotel, perfectly located, is a heritage building. Fair, charming, and offering excellent value for money, it is definitely worth revisiting. And the view of Hagia Sophia from the terrace was simply breathtaking. Congratulations!
the location of the hotel and the kindness of the staff
I enjoyed eight nights at Sultanhill and can recommend the accommodations. First, the price for the location is unbeatable. Sultanahmet Square is a thirty second walk. I was in room 503 and the Blue Mosque fills the view from the bed. The rooftop terrace views are even better. A bit of street noise through the day and into the evening, but very quiet through the night. Ali and staff are wonderfullly helpful and knowledgeable, and the desk is manned 24hrs a day. The hotel is in a restored government guest house, and there are just seventeen rooms. It is a popular photo point for passing tourists. There is no lift and the winding stairs could be a challenge for some people, as would heavy luggage. Don't forget that Istanbul is hilly and very steep in places, too. The room is of a decent size, with space for everything. As the weather was mild I didn't turn on either the heater or the air-conditioning, so I can't comment on their respective functionality. I didn't try out the TV or fridge either. The shower water gets hot quickly and provides great pressure. Old mold stains in the cubicle corner, could do with a deep clean. A slightly funky smell occasionally comes from the drains, as can be expected anywhere similar in the world. The furniture is old but there's nothing wrong with that, the mattress is firm and pillows are soft. A couple of small holes in the top blanket and some old water damage on the ceiling were noticeable, neither of which detracted from the experience. There is a power socket by the bed. The room was serviced daily. The room (and the whole hotel) is very clean. Breakfast is prepared by lovely ladies, and they put on quite a spread. It's traditional Turkish, meaning cheeses, eggs, sausages, salads, yoghurt, cereal, juice, bread, home baked cake, and more. Your day won't start on an empty stomach unless you need to head out early; breakfast is 0800 to 1030.
Location perfect, breakfast wonderful, manager exceptionally helpful ,room very clean
I loved the light breakfast. The location was perfect! The staff at the front desk were nice and kind. The view on the terrace is the Blue Mosque. Exquisite view especially by night! I just loved everything!
Very cozy hotel with an authentic breakfast garden and terrace with amazing view! Definitely recommended
Location was Perfect, Staff was Amazing, breakfast was great, rooms small but nice !
Perfect location and helpful, friendly staff.
The SultanHill is the perfect place to stay when you visit Istanbul. The location is fenomenal, you are literally steps away from the Blue Mosque and the Ayasofya. The staff is super friendly and helpful, the check in and out process is easy. In your room you have AC and they are changing the towels frequently. The roof terrace is sensational but with some lights and turkish decor it would be even better. We also loved the cats and the nice lady who is serving the delicious breakfast!
Great location. Very kind and helpful staffs. I love to come back again..
The staff was great, very helpful and nice. The location is great, wonderful view to the blue mosque from the terrace. It was very clean.
The location is perfect 👌 you are literally a stones throw away from the Blue Mosque and all its delights. Ali the owner is a funny friendly guy and his staff are all wonderful and friendly. Good sized room. Great breakfast the ladies even had homemade cake. Yum. Short walk to everything you want to see. They arranged transfers for us. Plus they have a cracking rooftop and shop just 350mts away to grabs some drinks to enjoy the views as the sun goes down and the call to prayer echo's out.
The generosity of the owner and Ms. RUSHAN for allowing my autistic child to join my reservation, and although he broke a couple of things, they were understanding. The location and view are incredible.
The location is great, very close to the main attractions in Suhlemet, but on a side street so a little more quiet and less busy. The owner was so friendly and helpful. The breakfast was really good, a lot of items and the woman who served it was so sweet. A/C worked really well in our room too.
amazing location, good breakfast, awesome rooftop with view of blue mosque
Location and staff
Beyond amazing location! So close to major tourist attractions. Steps from the Blue Mosque. I cannot say enough about the staff. Everyone was so nice and helpful. Manager helped give us travel tips, gave us tram card to get started with. On our day of checkout, he helped secure temporary parking for our rental! Really they are so nice. Gave us cold bottles of water as it was especially hot during our visit. Breakfast was great! Lots of options. View from rooftop terrace was amazing!
**★★★★★ Amazing Stay at Suptan Hill Hotel!** Suptan Hill Hotel was the perfect getaway—beautiful views, cozy rooms, and the friendliest staff. Waking up to those sunrise views from our balcony was unforgettable. The food? Delicious! Fresh breakfast spreads and tasty dinners with local flavors. And the pool? Pure relaxation. What really made it special was how welcoming everyone was. Felt like a home away from home. Can’t wait to go back! **Highly recommend.** *PS: If you love peaceful spots with great vibes, this is it!* 🌿✨
Intimate, small set up with attentive and helpful staff. Superbly located in close walkable proximity to key tourist attractions like Hagia Sophia. Decent breakfast. The early morning call for prayer from the nearby mosque is very much audible but did not bother us.
Location was amazing 3 min walk to Blue Mosque, 6 min walk to Hagia Sophia mosque. Photo of view of Blue mosque from outside hotel. Highly recommend if you’re not after a 5 star lavish hotel but a good value, friendly but basic hotel.
