good quality overall, and perfect position for my needs for just one night (i.e. transports from/to London)

Claire 9.0

Great place, close to the beach and local restaurants (got some dinner at a lovely greek place round the corner), my room was fab, comfortable bed, nice bathroom and lovely hot shower with nice toiletries, they even had hot chocolate with the tea/coffee…I travel weekly for work and the nice little touches made it feel cosy, check in is at the adjacent pub (that the hotel owner runs) and they were so friendly and welcoming (they had a jazz band on and the place was buzzing), I would definitely stay here again😊

The room was really nice with a view of the sea. Big and clean, with a nice en-suit bathroom and complimentary tea, coffee, biscuits and so. An iron and a hairdryer were also provided and TV was present. Wifi worked OK. Very good position and great value for money.

Great location a stone’s throw from the beach and loads of Kemptown bars and restaurants on the doorstep. I stayed in the jacuzzi room which was very comfortable and clean, with a good selection of free drinks and snacks.

About This Hotel

Situated in the fashionable Kemp Town district of Brighton city centre, Kempfield House invites guests to a quiet, characterful stay by the sea. The building preserves its 18th century charm while embracing contemporary comforts, delivering a refined ambiance that suits both short city breaks and longer, more relaxed visits. Its bright Madeira Place setting places you at the heart of a lively neighbourhood with easy access to historic sights, boutiques, and the coast. Location and surroundings are at the core of this intimate property. Step outside and you are moments from the Brighton seafront and the vibrant sea air that defines a Brighton holiday. The surrounding streets blend leafy corners, independent cafes, and boutique stores, making it easy to explore on foot. Kempfield House sits in a neighborhood that feels both welcoming and convenient, with the city’s attractions, nightlife, and waterfront attractions within easy reach. Beach and pool experience is shaped by the setting rather than on site facilities. Kempfield House does not advertise an on site pool, but its proximity to Brighton’s famed coast means you can enjoy a refreshing walk along the promenade and time by the water with minimal fuss. Many guests appreciate the view oriented rooms and the chance to step out for a sunset stroll over the waves, then return to a calm, well designed space indoors. Rooms and renovation details define the guest experience. With 16 rooms, Kempfield House offers a balance of intimate, well laid out spaces. Rooms blend modern comforts with preserved period details, creating an atmosphere that feels both fresh and timeless. Expect comfortable beds and dedicated seating areas in many rooms, along with thoughtful touches that elevate daily living. In room amenities include coffee and tea facilities so you can start the day with a warm drink before venturing out. Bathrooms are well appointed, featuring contemporary finishes that complement the room aesthetics. The overall feel is comfortable, uncluttered, and designed to feel like a home away from home, where historic character and modern practicality meet seamlessly. Food and beverage options focus on convenience and comfort. In room coffee and tea facilities offer a simple, welcoming start to mornings, while the compact size of the property suggests a streamlined service approach rather than a large in house restaurant. Guests often take advantage of Brighton’s thriving cafe and dining scene within a short walk, allowing for a flexible plan that suits a leisurely city break. Family friendliness and activities are clearly considered. The property welcomes children of any age, making it a real option for family trips. The maximum occupancy per room is two guests, and there is no capacity for extra beds or cots. This makes Kempfield House especially suitable for couples or two friends sharing a space. Check in is available from 14 00 to 20 00, and check out from 08 00 to 11 00, providing a relaxed rhythm to your day. Free WiFi is available in all areas, supporting easy planning and staying connected while you travel. Relaxation, wellness, and entertainment are expressed through the hotel’s calm, boutique atmosphere. The interior design favors a soothing, comfortable vibe that suits post excursion relaxation after a day exploring Brighton. The Kemp Town location means you are close to the seafront and to the city’s cultural calendar, from seaside walks to coffee stops, shops, and a variety of local venues. The surrounding area offers a mix of seaside charm and urban energy, inviting guests to combine restful days with lively evenings without ever traveling far. Who this hotel is ideal for. Kempfield House is perfect for couples seeking a stylish, intimate base in central Brighton, travellers who value period charm paired with modern comforts, and guests who want the convenience of a superb location near the seafront while staying in a quiet, personal space. It is well suited to those who prefer a smaller, personalized experience over a larger resort, and to two travelers or a small family who are content with a cozy room and easy access to the city and the beach.
