Loved everything about our stay at La Rosa. It is so cute, quirky, vintage and different which is definitely our vibe. We stayed in the La Rosa room which was absolutely beautiful, I loved the bathroom! All of the antiques were amazing and the view was fantastic. Fabulous location and staff. The cocktail library is gorgeous, as were the cocktails! I was very surprised when they could make the creamy ones vegan as they stock vegan cream, it was surprisingly a very vegan friendly little place. Cute little bottles of oat milk left for us in a morning too. Everything is so well thought out and all ties in together with the vintage Victorian vibes. We absolutely loved our stay here and would love to come back it was fabulous.

Clean, quirky and welcoming. Eclectic collections of curios adorn this lovely hotel. Note that breakfast is a light continental offer. Fresh milk and orange juice supplied to each room daily. Very warm welcome and everyone is keen to assure your comfort. And - fabulous views of the Abbey, St Mary’s and the harbour.

About This Hotel

La Rosa Hotel is a small, intimate guest house set on Whitby’s East Terrace. With seven rooms, the property offers a personal, welcoming atmosphere that suits travelers who value proximity to the coast and a friendly, homely feel. Despite its compact size, the location puts you in the heart of Whitby’s seaside character, ideal for those who want to step out and immediately be near the water and local sights. Location and surroundings The hotel sits in a prime coastal spot, making beach days an easy part of your itinerary. Whitby Beach is around 200 metres away, so mornings can start with a refreshing walk along the shore and evenings can wind down with a stroll back along the promenade. Sandsend Beach is a short distance away at about 1.9 kilometres, giving guests options for different beach experiences during their stay. The nearby coastline and maritime scenery create a relaxed backdrop for a weekend escape or a longer break by the sea. In addition to beach access, the property is within easy reach of the wider Whitby area, with local attractions and landmarks that offer classic seaside charm and memorable views. Beach and pool experience La Rosa Hotel focuses on an authentic coastal atmosphere rather than resort style facilities. An on site bar provides a sociable space to unwind after a day by the sea, while the lounge areas shown in the photos capture a comfortable, informal setting for drinks and light gatherings. The property does not list a pool among its facilities, so guests who prefer a pool day will find the emphasis here on direct beach access, sea breezes and the uninterrupted views that come with a seaside town stay. Room options include sea view possibilities, and many photos highlight the potential for scenic views that complement a relaxing beach holiday. Rooms and renovation details Seven rooms form the backbone of La Rosa Hotel, each designed to provide a pleasant and restful environment after a day by the coast. The images depict beds that look inviting and well arranged, with several photos showing the presence of seating areas within rooms. A number of rooms feature distinct views or decorative details, including possible landmark or sea views, which can enhance the sense of being close to Whitby’s memorable coastline. In addition, some rooms appear to include practical touches such as coffee and tea facilities, aligning with guests who appreciate a simple, at home style of comfort. While the listing does not specify renovation dates, the range of contemporary decor cues visible in the photos suggests a consistently well maintained interior that supports a relaxing, modern vibe within a traditional seaside setting. Food and beverage options On site, guests can enjoy the hotel’s bar, a social focal point that complements evenings by the coast. The presence of a dining area and the tag for a continental breakfast indicate that food and drink options are available without needing to venture far. Breakfast offerings appear to include continental style choices, and the lounge or bar area provides a place to unwind with a drink or light meal after a day exploring Whitby. The combination of a compact dining atmosphere and convenient beverage options makes this a convenient option for guests who value simplicity and a relaxed, low key culinary experience. Family friendliness and activities La Rosa Hotel welcomes guests of all ages, with the policies indicating that children are allowed. There is no capacity for cots, and the maximum occupancy is nine guests, which aligns with the intimate, boutique feel of the property. Free WiFi is available in all areas, supporting families who need connectivity for a quick check in or entertainment between beach visits. Private parking is not listed on site; however there is public parking nearby at a cost of GBP 2 per day, and reservation is not possible. Pets are allowed on request, with potential charges, which adds flexibility for guests traveling with furry friends. For families seeking near by activities, nearby attractions include minigolf and other seaside amusements accessed with a short stroll or quick drive from Whitby center. Relaxation, wellness and entertainment The seaside ambience naturally lends itself to a relaxed pace, with sea views and sunsets featured among the hotel’s photographic highlights. Guests can unwind in the bar and lounge, enjoying a casual atmosphere after a day on the sand or exploring Whitby. The location also makes it easy to combine a day on the beach with gentle coastal strolls, seasonal sunset moments and the possibility of exploring nearby landmarks or enjoying a light meal in the local dining spots. The overall vibe is one of simple, unfussy comfort rather than lavish wellness facilities, which suits travelers who prefer a straightforward, rejuvenating coastal stay. Who this hotel is ideal for La Rosa Hotel is ideal for beach lovers who want the ease of walking to Whitby Beach and the option to explore Sandsend Beach. It suits couples and small groups who appreciate a quiet, intimate setting with a sociable on site bar and a low key dining option. Families with children will value the central location and the ability to stay in one of seven rooms within a compact, friendly property, while understanding cot capacity is limited. The hotel also appeals to travelers seeking good value near the coast, with free WiFi, nearby parking and a flexible policy on pets. For those who want a seaside base from which to sample Whitby’s coastal scenery, local attractions and easy day trips to the surrounding coastline, La Rosa Hotel offers a comfortable, welcoming home away from home after a day of discovery.
