Guest Reviews
The staff were very attentive and helped make our stay truly enjoyable. The breakfast was excellent, with a wide selection of both sweet and savoury dishes, and the option to enjoy it on the rooftop terrace with stunning views of the Golden Horn and the Bosphorus was a real highlight. The hotel is located close to Galata Tower, which means it sits at the top of a fairly steep hill, but the historic Tünel funicular makes it easy to reach without much climbing. We stayed in the King Suite on the 4th floor (the hotel has a lift), which offered beautiful views of Istanbul rooftops, including the sea and Galata Tower.
Beautiful property, great location, fabulous rooftop and great service.
Very good hotel
Loved this hotel! Lovely warm welcome, great service (including a little gift from the team halfway through!), brilliant breakfast with a stunning view of the city (both sides!) and a great location - would definitely stay here again!
Great breakfast with unbeatable view. Also for a drink at night (but expensive, European prices). Location is perfect to visit the city.
Perfect location in Galata. Very fancy historic hotel with amazing rooftop views. The breakfast is fantastic. One of the best I've seen at a hotel - especially when it's served on their amazing rooftop. I will stay here again if available!
The breakfast is amazing with an exceptional amount of choice, weather permitting it is eaten on the terrace which has amazing views over the city and of the Galata Tower. The staff are lovely, in particular the helpful concierge staff. Always helpful and friendly, they were exceptionally good at sorting out anything required. The bed was very comfy and a really good shower. The food was good at the restaurant, especially the Tahini Rice Pudding. It would be great if they offered a larger selection of Gluten free options. As a 4 star hotel, it would have been good to have better options that are not that complicated to offer.
We spent four wonderful days at the Meroddi Barnathan Hotel in Istanbul, and it couldn’t have been a better choice for me and my two teenage daughters (14 and 16). 💕 our triple room was overlooking a quiet place right in front of the Galata tower. Perfectly located in the heart of Galata, it’s surrounded by lively streets full of charm — ideal for exploring, shopping, grabbing dinner, or simply soaking up the vibrant energy of the neighborhood. Yet, as soon as you step inside, you find peace and quiet — the best of both worlds! The Galata Bridge and the historical part of the city are just a short, easy walk away, which made sightseeing effortless. The staff were truly exceptional — warm, generous, and always ready to help. They organized our airport transfers flawlessly, answered every question with kindness, and even surprised us with a lunchbox for our departure without us asking. Such thoughtful touches made us feel so well taken care of. And then there’s the rooftop — with beautiful view on the Galata tower , delicious breakfasts, refreshing drinks, and lovely dinners. Watching the city from up there was just magical. A place full of heart, in the perfect location — we’ll definitely come back. ❤️🇹🇷
The most fabulous hotel Old school thought I was in the 1860s Magnificent
Hi we stay only 1 night.location are perfekt.personal are friendly and helpfull.we need to change room.resepsajon people help us.breakfast so nice +great panorama from topp terrase.Only will like better pillow:(( We will come bak. Elena Svendsen
Located at the picturesque Beyoglou area, at the end of the magnificent Istiklal street (connecting Taksim square with Galata tower) this belle epoque built and well maintenanced construction offers an enjoyable stay and a unique panoramic view of the city and its sea surroundings from a terrace operated as breakfrast, lunch and drink area. Due to its proximity to Galata bridge (Eminonu and Karakoy harbours) and the comfortness of using funicular TF1, combined with tram lines, it is a quite convenient spot for visiting the most important sightseeings of Konstantinoupolis. Also, for exploring both european and asian parts of the city, as well as the Bosporus suburbs.
Everyone was very polite and approachable. Thank you very much for the best stay in the city!
Everything was amazing, especially the staff. Bahar was the best!
Wonderful hotel in the middle of all the action. Walking distance to Istiklal street and the galata tower. Rooms are beautifully designed and very clean! They give as a gift pack wich was a very special touch. Ibrahim very friendly and sufficient( reception) Communication on WhatsApp was very good. Rooftop is amazing
Beautiful hotel, both inside and out. So close to Galata tower, you can touch it. Great breakfast on rooftop. Staff friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend.
The staff was nice and friendly. The breakfast was Ok. The view and the location are excellent.
We had a disturbed first night due to street noise and the bar directly opposite our room. I requested a room change in the morning and am delighted to say this was accommodated quickly and without any fuss. We slept well the next three nights. The hotel is very well situated for visiting the Galata Tower and making your way down to the river. The breakfast on the terrace was delightful and a great start to our days.
Great breakfast and best view!!
Location is great, less than 1 minute walk to galata tower. Hotel looks and have that classy feel. Terrace is beautiful and yummiest breakfast
Our stay at this hotel was simply unforgettable. The breakfast was absolutely delicious, offering a wide variety of fresh and tasty options to start the day. The terrace was breathtaking, with a stunning panoramic view over the entire city of Istanbul — a true highlight of the experience. What really made the difference, though, was the staff: from the very first moment until the last, every single person was incredibly kind, attentive, and genuinely fantastic. Highly recommended for anyone looking for comfort, beauty, and warm hospitality in the heart of Istanbul. We would like to especially thank the receptionist Ibrahim, who always welcomed us with kindness, helping us every day with professionalism and warmth. It is not easy to find someone so attentive and dedicated to the guests of the hotel. When we lost our phone in a taxi, he helped us get in touch with the driver, reassuring us and making sure we got it back. We also want to thank Bahar, who is in charge of breakfasts, always so attentive and friendly, for my sister’s birthday, she surprised us with a lovely little cake! A big thank you also goes to the receptionist Amed, who was always available to us with a smile, ready to help at any time with professionalism and care. And finally, our gratitude to Selma, the housekeeper on our floor, who was reliable, extremely kind, and attentive to all our needs and requests. Truly excellent. Thank you once again, we will certainly return to Istanbul and stay at your wonderful hotel.
