Guest Reviews
This small, atmospheric hotel is perfectly located in a quiet street, within walking distance to Istanbul's most important monuments, and with easy access to public transport (literally across the street, there's an entrance to Sirkeci Marmaray station). Furthermore, a cluster of small, pleasant restaurants serving tasty meals at moderate prices is just around the corner. The staff is very friendly and ready to help. The room is clean and has everything you need (including a kettle, a refrigerator, gel and shampoo). A buffet Turkish breakfast is freshly prepared each day; it isn't very varied, but it's balanced, and the food is really delicious and keeps you full for hours.
Location was great, Nadia during the the breakfast was amazing
Location is perfect
Adequate breakfast, excellent location, helpful staff
Such a lovely place to stay, great location, room cleaning every day, good breakfast Room with terace with a nice view
Nice and clean hotel in an excellent location, in a walking distance from the main attractions and easily accessible by public transport. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. We stayed at this hotel for a week and had no complaints.
The friendlyness of all the staff, especially mr. Ali (Thanks for everything), the other friendly receptionist and the so friendly cleaningladies. Good breakfast and yes: this hotels feels as if you stay with friends!
Ofcourse the friendly staff, good room and very good breakfast.
Very pleasant small hotel in a great location., just minutes walk from Galata bridge, the Egyptian bazaar and the Blue Mosque. Nice Turkish breakfast freshly prepared each day. Very comfortable bed with good quality bed linen.
Elegant and simple. Very clean and great use of space
Polite, friendly and helpful staff. Clean, comfortable and good value.
The location is very good, a few minutes from everything. Cleaning was done daily (we stayed for 3 nights). Breakfast was good, the hosts were very kind, the outside noise was low (as there was little traffic). It is easy to get to from SAW airport, you only have to change 2 means of transport.
Everything was great! The hotel is very clean, well located, the staff was nice. I worked from there and wifi was good enough to have calls. Breakfast pastry was tasty.
The hotel is small, but very well maintained. Excellent location. The staff is friendly and kind. I was very impressed with the breakfast, which was very good and varied.
The staff were very nice and helpful. The breakfast was plentiful with a wide variety of choices. The food was very good. The view from my room was toward the river and very nice. It was quiet at night. The shower was hot and strong. This is definitely a place I would stay again for a short term stay. The elevator is small but handled my 2 bags. WiFi worked well.
Everything was really nice. The location is perfect.
The hotel is situated in the middle of the most important tourist points of interest as Hagia Sophia, Blue mosque etc.
This hotel is value for money. The most amazing location, walking distance to all major sites and very well connected with transport to everything you need. It is located in a nice and busy area with lots of restaurants, cafes and shops but the hotel itself is quiet on a side street. Room is very clean, small but convenient and the breakfast adds a nice touch (basic but tasteful). Ali on the reception was very helpful and was there for us for all our requests.
The room was small but location was good.
Position of the hotel is superb, everything is on a walk distance from the hotel, and the tram station is just across the door of the hotel. It is easy to transfer from hotel do Sabiha Airport. Breakfast is good, classic choice of food (cheese, ham, bread, cereals, eggs, baked vegetables....) and beverages (coffee, tea, juice).

About This Hotel
Nusretbey Hotel sits in the heart of Istanbul’s historic Fatih district, occupying a building that preserves the character of the 19th century Ottoman era. The property offers a calm, intimate stay with a shared lounge where guests can mingle and unwind, and a 24 hour front desk that is ready to assist at any hour. This is a compact hotel with 14 guest rooms, designed for travelers who want to step out and discover a living neighborhood filled with history. Location and surroundings Placed less than 1 km from Hagia Sophia Museum, Nusretbey Hotel is perfectly positioned for city explorers. The property sits on hocapaşa mahallesi ebusuud caddesi no:43, Fatih, 34110, placing you in a pedestrian friendly zone where narrow streets unfold into a treasure trove of small cafes, shops, and easy access on foot to major sights. The building itself carries Ottoman era details that give a sense of place the moment you arrive. The surrounding area is alive with neighborhood character, enabling strolls that reveal architectural textures, local eateries, and a pace of life that is unique to the old city. A stay here is about convenient access as much as about atmosphere. The shared lounge serves as a social hub where guests can compare notes about their daily discoveries or simply relax between excursions. The 24 hour front desk is present to help arrange recommendations, wake up calls, or late night arrivals, supporting a seamless city break in a location that invites exploration on foot. Beach and pool experience If you are seeking on site swimming or resort style leisure, please note that no beach or pool facilities are listed for Nusretbey Hotel. This is an urban heritage stay that emphasizes proximity to historic sights, street life, and authentic local experiences rather than resort style amenities. For travelers who want a water day, the appeal lies in stepping outside and using Istanbul as a living backdrop, with the option to discover the city’s waterside corners on independent day trips. Rooms With 14 rooms, Nusretbey Hotel offers a compact set up that feels intimate and easy to navigate. The photos show a range of spaces that feature comfortable beds and practical seating areas. Many images highlight balconies or terraces and even city views in some rooms, suggesting a choice for guests who want a little extra outdoorsy connection with the street life. Private bathrooms are evident in several photographs, reinforcing a sense of convenience and daily comfort. The absence of specific renovation details means guests can expect traditional charm rather than a gleaming modern hotel environment, but the overall presentation points to neat, well kept rooms that suit short breaks and longer urban stays alike. Given the building has Ottoman era features, you can anticipate a sense of heritage in the room design paired with essential modern comforts. Food and drink Breakfast is a recurring theme in the hotel’s imagery and is associated with buffet style offerings in the gallery. An on site restaurant option is indicated by the photos as well, which means you can enjoy a meal without leaving the property. This combination of breakfast and dining space is a practical perk for travelers who prefer a straightforward start to the day before heading out to explore the city’s ancient lanes. The presence of these dining elements aligns well with a city stay where mornings begin with a slow, local inspired meal before you step into the bustle of the old town. Family friendly and activities Families are welcome at Nusretbey Hotel. The policies outline that children of any age are accepted, with comfort and pricing varying by the bed configuration you book. The hotel caps the total number of guests at three, and there are rules about cots and extra beds that depend on availability and the option you choose. For families with younger children there are terms allowing free stays for younger kids when using existing cots or beds, and there are structured charges for older children when using available extra beds. The check in age is 18, which is standard for this market, and there is no listed pet policy. This setup makes Nusretbey a practical option for small families who want a centralized base and flexible accommodation in a historic neighborhood. Facilities and services WiFi is available in all areas at Nusretbey Hotel and is free of charge, which makes it easy to plan day trips, share photos, or check maps while in the city. Public parking is possible nearby, and it costs around 15 EUR per day, a helpful option if you are touring Istanbul by car or organizing day trips outside the city center. The 24 hour front desk supports guests with late arrivals or early checkouts and can assist with local recommendations. The presence of a shared lounge adds a social element to an urban stay, providing a quiet corner to read, plan routes, or simply unwind after a day of walking through Istanbul’s winding streets. Relaxation, wellness and entertainment Relaxation at Nusretbey Hotel comes from its ambiance and its historic backdrop rather than a dedicated wellness area. The intimate setting, combined with proximity to Hagia Sophia and the surrounding historic core, invites guests to slow down and enjoy long walks through centuries of history, capture photographs at sunset, and savor the daily rhythms of the old city. The property’s social space and reception team help guests maximize their time in the neighborhood by sharing local tips and arranging experiences that fit the pace and interests of different travelers. This hotel is ideal for visitors who value immersion in a living city over resort style escapism. Who this hotel is ideal for Nusretbey Hotel is tailored for travelers who want a central, authentic Istanbul base with easy access to major sights. It is well suited for history enthusiasts who want to be in the thick of the old city while enjoying practical, no fuss amenities.
