The Rodion Hotel is an optimal choice for a budget friendly stay in Istanbul and boasts great value for money. The rooms and ablutions are clean, the beds are comfortable, and the staff helpful. The included breakfast is good and sets you up for a day of exploration in Istanbul. Mehmet and his family are hospitable and relaxed making the stay all the better. I’d recommend the Rodion to the intrepid tourist in Istanbul who is looking for something central, simple, and cheap.

Everything is good. Staff are very welcoming and supportive even when the English language wasn’t easy to communicate all was clear. Place is perfect and easy to get to everywhere you need. There is no perfect location than this. Grocery store just next doors too and if you prefer late snack no problem too. Fast local food and buffet style close by too. Only the breakfast is starting from 8:30. A bit late for my taste as I usually eat at 7:00 every day, but wasn’t that big of a deal for me. And consideration for those with mobility as there is only stars to rooms. Thank you for your welcoming and hospitality to us.

As a sole traveller, I spent a while researching budget-level hotels prior to my holiday in Istanbul, and do not regret chosing this one. The location is near The Golden Horn Metro Bridge, with its easy connection to Istanbul Airport. The main tourist attractions (Hagia Sophia, Topkapi, Grand Bazaar and Galata Tower) were in reasonable walking distance, but for non-walkers, the city transport systems are efficient and cheap, and that includes the ferries that can take you across the Bosphorus to the other side of Istanbul (Camlica Tower is worth visiting). The surrounding location was not overly busy, but felt safe with a supermarket opposite and moderately-priced restaurants nearby. Whist my hotel room could perhaps do with some decorative improvements, the room was clean and the shower was always hot. The included traditional Turkish breakfast was filling enough to set me up for the day. Best of all was the fact that the hotel was a small, family run estabishment. Mehmet and his father were kind and generous with their advice, and Mehmet even took the trouble to arrange an evening cruise along the Bosphorus with dinner for me.

The staff was very welcoming and considerate, even preparing a breakfast to go for me. Location is convenient for using the metro to and from the airport, as well as for accessing transit into the city center.

The location was perfect, close to public transportation, and within walking distance of the main mosques. The facilities were fine, with only a few minor issues, but they didn't affect my experience at the hotel. The housekeeping was excellent; towels were changed and the trash was emptied every day. The breakfast was delicious, hearty, and perfect for starting the morning. The staff was excellent, very friendly, always with a smile. 100% recommended for price, quality, and location.

I absolutely loved my stay here. The staff and the family who manages the hotel are incredibly friendly, hospitable, and genuinely attentive. Everything was spotless, and you can tell they take great pride in keeping the place clean and welcoming. The breakfast was fresh and delicious, with options like cheese, olives, bread, and omelette, making it so filling. I also really appreciated the location, the tram and metro are just a short walk away, making it super easy to explore the city. Overall, this hotel has the perfect mix of location, comfort, cleanliness, and warm hospitality. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

I absolutely loved this place. The staff is incredible and everyone there is super friendly and hospitable. The breakfast is very nice with cheese, olives, bread, ometlet, etc... although it was so filling that I skipped it sometimes to save my appetite to try other meals in the city haha. The room was clean and the AC worked well. I absolutely loved the location too. It's like right on the edge of the touristy area so it had a more local vibe while still keeping the old town feel. It's close to the Eminonu metro and ferries, and it's centrally located in the city in general so I never felt like I had to walk too far to reach anything. Some of the restaurants right next to the hotel are really good and are much cheaper than touristic places.

The room was amazingly quiet despite being positioned right over the intersection of two streets. It had a good view. The staff were very helpful.

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel! The staff was extremely polite, helpful, and genuinely attentive - it made a great impression. The beds were very comfortable, and the breakfasts were hearty and nutritious - more than enough to feel full. When I booked the room on Booking, I didn’t notice that the economy room didn’t have a window. Once I mentioned that I felt uncomfortable staying in a room without one, the staff was very understanding and the next day, as soon as another room became available, they upgraded me to a better room with a window at no extra charge. That was very kind and much appreciated. I’m sure I’ll be coming back to this hotel again!

Just great, especially at that price. Everything in the room just works and is clean. The roof has a nice terrace with a decent view (see image day/night). The reception seems to be manned 24/7 (I returned at 3am one day and someone was there). Anything that isn't in the room can be asked for at the reception, like water, tea, coffee, a plastic bag,... Owner is very communicative and friendly (with limited English knowledge). The room is decently quiet, but street noises will still be heard. They die down at night though.
