I’m not normally a review writing person, but I wanted to put into words my family and I’s experience at The Side Win, mainly because having read the previous reviews from 2022/21 (after booking) I was quite apprehensive about my stay prior to arriving. I am glad to say the vast majority of these were not correct and I hope the following helps put anyone in a similar situation’s mind at rest. First of all I need to stress I booked our holiday on a tight, pretty low, budget and was looking for somewhere to accommodate two young, energetic children. I also fortunately found the Side Win when they were running some kind of promotional discount deal which combined with my Genius Level 3 discount with Booking.com meant the price for one week in early July was too good to turn down and balanced out the negative reviews. The facilities and activities for kids were excellent and the staff were likewise. The water slides in the pictures are as fun as they look and kept my kids busy for the majority of the day. There is also a really good splash play park for younger kids and a separate large normal pool if you want something quieter. On the subject of noise level, one thing I thought the entertainment team did well was limiting the loud/up beat music and getting guests involved in activities (water aerobics etc) to certain times, with the rest being more laid back chilled music. They also ran daily darts, water polo/hand ball games and the evening entertainment was ok, some nights better than others (bingo and karaoke on Saturday/Sunday were my favourite! Regarding the staff; I need to give a shout out to Can (pronounced Yan) in the smoothie bar, who spoke great English and was very friendly, and also Ismael and Yana from the entertainment/kids club team as they also made us feel very welcome and were not ‘too much’ as sometimes can be the case.
