Guest Reviews
Location with a beautiful view from the window and terrace, next to the historic center. The administrator is kind, offered an umbrella for the rain and shared a kettle for us to warm up.
The place is lovely, very close to the primary places to visit. We really liked it
Good value, clean room. Staff were excellent. Short walk to shops & restaurants.
Staying in Istanbul is an experience I’ll never forget — and one of the main reasons is the people. Turkish hospitality is something truly special: warm, kind, and always ready to help you with anything you might need. This was especially true at Sultan Palace, where the staff went above and beyond to assist us throughout our stay. Communication with them was excellent and made everything so easy. The hotel itself, though modest, was very comfortable and clean. One of the highlights was without a doubt the stunning view of the mosque — absolutely unforgettable. I truly recommend this place not only for the kindness of the staff or the amazing views, but also for its location: right in the heart of Sultanahmet, just a few minutes' walk from the main square where you’ll find the Blue Mosque, and a bit further, Hagia Sophia. It’s a great area, with plenty of restaurants, a few convenience stores, and everything you might need within easy reach. Sultanahmet is the oldest part of Istanbul, and in my opinion, one of the most charming areas in the whole city. All in all, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Sultan Palace again — and I hope to return in the future.
Near attractions , 10 min walk to hagia shopia
Nice view of the blue mosque and sea view
I arrived on a rainy day and left on a rainy day, but the stay in between was great. The place feels fit for a Sultan, with thoughtful details like a small hot pot in the reception area. They provided two pairs of slippers, and the room, while small, was cozy and clean, with artificial candle lamps adding charm. It was tidied daily, and the bathroom was well-maintained. The food available for online ordering was pricey, but I never needed it. The Simit (a type of Turkish bread) was delightful, especially with Nutella or mayonnaise, though it was equally enjoyable plain. The location is great too. The Cemberlitas area has a metro tram station, making it easy to explore the city with an Istanbulkart, which you can purchase at the metro station. The Grand Bazaar and other attractions are just a short walk away. The view from the room’s window was phenomenal, with a huge mosque nearby (which I initially thought to be Hagia Sophia) and the sea dotted with stationary ships, visible both day and night. The rooftop, furnished with tables and chairs, offers a stunning view, though we didn’t get a chance to use it. Seagulls often flew around, and cats occasionally climbed onto the roofs. Before departing, we picked up sweets near the metro station, making for a perfect ending to the trip. I would recommend this place to anyone visiting Istanbul.
Depends on our ourder, they did their best. Our staying in this hotel were amazing.Especially, the young man staff was polite.
The location is fantastic near all historical sites
The staff is really nice. Both receptionists were very friendly and welcoming. They all the time assisted me and my family with carrying the baby strollers. One of them even went with me to find an ATM. The location was also good, close to many main attractions just by walking.
Very good location and you are able to walk everywhere and close to the tram if you need to go further. The view from the terrace was great and a good place to listen to the call to prayer spread across the city, the call to prayer from the neighbouring mosque was loud but it didn’t wake us up in the night. We found the staff to be friendly and helpful, allowing us to leave our luggage there when we arrived earlier than the check in time.
It’s really near to attractive places. Like blue mosque and Hagia Sophie
Excellent location, and great staff! I recommend it. Will stay again in future.

If you are a culture seeker, history buff, or simply want to feel the pulse of old Istanbul while staying in a well located base, this hotel is well suited to your plan. A note on resort style facilities: the property does not advertise a beach or a pool. Instead, Sultan Palace Hotel emphasizes city living and direct access to historic surroundings. Guests who value urban ambience will appreciate the rooftop terrace as a relaxing alternative where you can pause and take in the city after a day of touring. The emphasis is on location, views, and practical comfort rather than resort style amenities, making it a strong choice for shorter stays and city focused itineraries. The photos show a range of room layouts that include beds, seating areas, and views that hint at the surrounding cityscape. Some rooms feature balconies or terraces, and a number of the views highlight city scenery while others show a sea or harbour perspective depending on the room type. Family travelers will find several policies that make Sultan Palace Hotel a reasonable choice for children and groups. For families with infants, cots and existing beds are subject to availability, with clear notes about maximum numbers and charges when using extra beds. The hotel also clarifies that children seven years and older will be charged as adults, a common practice for many urban properties. These policies are framed to give families a realistic sense of space and costs for a city stay, while still offering flexibility for those booking multiple rooms or combining accommodations for a small group. For those seeking relaxation after a day of sightseeing, the rooftop terrace provides a calm setting with city views that feel almost cinematic in the golden hours. Inside, the lobby and reception areas offer a welcoming space to unwind, plan the next day, or simply enjoy a moment of quiet before stepping back into the bustle of the streets outside. Free WiFi throughout the property keeps guests connected, whether you’re coordinating plans with family at the end of a day of exploration or sharing your Istanbul discoveries with friends back home. The combination of accessible public spaces, practical rooms, and a strong sense of place makes this hotel a logical choice for travellers who value an authentic urban experience over a traditional resort vibe. This hotel is ideal for a specific profile of traveler. Culture seekers and history lovers who want to be within walking distance of Istanbul’s iconic landmarks will find the location hard to beat. Couples looking for a romantic city base with striking views from the rooftop terrace will also enjoy the setting. Families with children who need flexible arrangements and a compact, easy to manage property will appreciate the policy framework around cots, existing beds, and the occupancy limit. Budget-minded travelers who prize proximity to sights and ease of getting around the old town will find Sultan Palace Hotel a strong value in a premier destination. In short, if your priorities are location, practical comfort, and a memorable cityscape, this hotel delivers a compelling option for a rewarding Istanbul stay.
