The location and breakfast was great!

Sara 8.0

The breakfast here is fantastic. A full buffet with lots of choices and plenty of seating. For Fringe time, it was reasonably priced and allowed us to have separate bedrooms.

Linda 9.0

Spacious room and close to hiking areas. Great breakfast.

Great value for Edinburgh. Not too far from Old Town. Hike up to Arthur’s Seat was great. Rooms are basic but comfortable enough. Breakfast was amazing! So much to choose from and very tasty.

Location and food

Good location. Friendly staff. Fairly close to Fringe venues but not right in the thick of it. We had a room with a huge, shared balcony and it had gorgeous views of Arthur's Seat and parts of the city. Very easy to get out and walk up the Seat right from the dorm. The breakfast was amazing! They had lots and lots of options and clear labels to indicate ingredients (great for food allergies/intolerances). It was a huge cafeteria and was packed on the weekend but it ran like a well-oiled machine. Hours to get breakfast were very reasonable but they aren't kidding with the closing time. Be there before its done or you won't eat!

apart from the room key which was temperamental and needed lots of tries all was very good. And the breakfasts were well provided for in all areas of peoples preference.

Loved the experience of staying in a dorm and everything was clean and tidy. The bed was comfy, ample space for luggage and to move around. Shared bathroom but never had to wait to use it. I had a lovely view of Arthur's Seat from my window so that was a bonus. The price was very reasonable especially during the Fringe Festival. Location was a little far from the main Old Town area but it's a good walk downhill to reach it. Breakfast had a really good spread and was tasty. Lovely flowers and plants around the area. Will definitely stay here again.
