Great Location and good size room with comfortable beds
Great location. Comfortable bed. TV had lots of channels including Prime!
very good restaurant downstairs
Helpful staff
I book a room here most times I visit Oxford, because it's comfortable, affordable, and in a really good location. I consider it a reliable and pleasant basic option, with a certain slightly eccentric charm. This time I was visiting with two friends, and they were also happy with their rooms :) We were all especially delighted to be welcomed by Ahmad at the Al Shami restaurant downstairs when we checked in on this occasion - an expert in the arts of hospitality and witty banter - and we all very much enjoyed our dinner there on the first night!
This is an expensive location, so for the price, it was perfectly fine. A quiet neighborhood and central location.
The property was very good near the town would recommend it to anyone
Great location. Close to cafes and restaurants in Little Clarendon St. good to have a fridge.
Location, friendly staff...great food at their restaurant.
About This Hotel
Nestled in a bustling part of Oxford city centre, The Jericho Hotel offers an intimate, characterful base for travellers who want to be close to the university and the city’s cultural heartbeat. With just 13 guest rooms, the property feels more like a private guest house than a large hotel, delivering a warm, focused experience for visitors who value proximity and convenience over size. Location is the standout feature here. The Jericho Hotel sits in Oxford’s central neighbourhood, and it is just 600 metres from the University of Oxford. This makes the hotel an ideal choice for academics, prospective students, or visitors attending lectures and conferences. In addition, guests are within a short stroll of St Benet’s Hall and Somerville College, making it easy to plan a day that blends study, history and modern Oxford life. The address at 25 Walton Crescent puts you in a residential street that feels quiet and safe, yet still within easy reach of the city’s key sights, cafes and shops. On the subject of leisure spaces there is no on site beach or pool listed in the data, reflecting the urban nature of the property. The Jericho Hotel focuses on comfort and convenience, with a guest experience built around its location, its in house dining and straightforward services. Guests who want water related recreation will find Oxford’s riverside walks and green spaces close by, and the city’s many attractions are easy to reach on foot or by a short taxi ride. Inside the hotel you will find a simple, well kept interior that supports a relaxed stay. The 13 rooms are described in the image gallery as having beds and comfortable layouts, with a modern, unfussy style that suits both couples and solo travellers. While the property does not feature grand suites or extensive renovation storytelling, the rooms offer practical comfort with quality bedding and a clean, uncluttered ambience. Each room is designed to feel peaceful after a day spent exploring Oxford, with soft textiles and practical storage that make it easy to unpack and unwind. The overall impression is one of thoughtful, budget friendly comfort rather than opulent luxury, a choice many visitors find reassuring when they want to devote more of their budget to experiences rather than accommodation. Dining is a highlight that gives the Jericho Hotel a distinct identity. The in house restaurant serves Lebanese cuisine, a cuisine that complements Oxford’s cosmopolitan character. Guests can start the day with a reliable breakfast option and then choose from light meals or more substantial options as the day progresses. The food and beverage offering is designed to be convenient for busy travellers, helping you refuel after long sessions on campus or long days of sightseeing. The restaurant experience also creates a social atmosphere in the evenings, a good backdrop for couples and small groups to unwind over a shared meal. Family travellers will appreciate the flexible approach to children and beds that the data outlines. The hotel welcomes children of any age, and there is a policy reflecting a family friendly approach to accommodation. The maximum number of guests per reservation is five, which helps keep groups intimate and manageable. There are also notes about how many children can stay for free when using existing beds, with a caveat that capacity for extra beds or cots is limited. It is worth checking the exact occupancy details during booking to ensure you have the correct arrangement for your family. Check in is available from 14:30 to 21:30, with checkout from 08:00 to 11:00. These times make planning easy for travellers arriving after a day of campus visits or city sightseeing. The property offers free WiFi throughout, which is a welcome amenity for guests who want to stay connected without worrying about roaming charges or data limits. For those seeking a practical, city centre base that balances comfort, location and a touch of international flavour, The Jericho Hotel performs well. It suits travellers who want a straightforward, reliable stay in a walkable part of Oxford, with easy access to the university and the city’s cultural attractions, while enjoying a distinct Lebanese dining option on site. This hotel is ideal for couples looking for a quiet, central stay, for academics and their guests, and for families who prefer a compact, friendly property over a larger, more anonymous hotel. In short, if your priority is to be close to the University of Oxford with a short stroll to campus life, a mid sized, uncomplicated room environment, an in house Lebanese restaurant and a warm, unpretentious atmosphere, The Jericho Hotel offers a convincing blend of location, practicality and subtle style. It is a good choice for travellers who want to soak up the atmosphere of Oxford from a central, well connected base that keeps daily planning simple and enjoyable.
