Guest Reviews
This place fabulous! A lot of care and excellent service from the owners. Awesome roof top breakfast with views of the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. Easy walking distance to old town sites. One block from hotel bus drop off point.
Location, staff, and breakfast.
Great breakfast on the rooftop and incredible location for all the key sites. Staff were very friendly too.
The spacious room and comfortable bed, the view from the balcony, the stunning roof top views of the Bosphorus, the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. The friendly attentive staff, including very helpful information when we first arrived. The location of the hotel was perfect
The location of this hotel could not be better for seeing all the sights in the old city. Everything was super close and walkable. The staff were all wonderful and very helpful. One of the desk staff spent a long time with me trying to help print out a boarding pass. He was patient and ultimately successful. We especially loved the young teen boy (perhaps the son of the desk clerk?) who escorted us to our room. He was a delight. A different staff member helped us with our booked transport to the airport. He called the company to confirm where we would meet the car (no cars can pull up right in front of the hotel) and helped brings our bags to where the driver parked around the corner. The room was not as pictured on the website, but then again, they obviously can only pick one room to show from among many. So that wasn't a big deal. It was a bit smaller than we would have liked but otherwise quite nice. The bed was super comfy. We had a sea view room with a balcony you could sit on and see a portion of the Bosphorous. Fun! And the breakfast that was included with our room was over the top! A huge array of everything you could think of and more--like tons of prepared salads (eggplant, beans, you name it), fresh bread, scrambled eggs, potatoes, and things like rolled and stuffed eggplant. Great for vegetarians like us! So I highly recommend this hotel.
Everything but especially the willingness of the on duty managers to go the extra mile in organising excursions and, in my case, medical assistance.
Breakfast was plentiful and good quality with many selection and the views were spectacular.
Steps away from Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, and Topkapi Palace. Staff are very friendly. Beds are very comfortable.
We had a wonderful stay at Magnaura Palace Hotel! The location is unbeatable — just a short walk from Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, and Topkapı Palace, yet tucked away enough to feel peaceful and cozy. The rooms are charming and comfortable; One of the highlights was the terrace view — watching over Istanbul’s historic skyline was magical. The staff was warm, attentive, and always ready to help with suggestions or arrangements.
Location
An amazing location, with extremely friendly and helpful service from all staff members. Beautiful rooftop dining room and lovely breakfasts.
The breakfast was good, a lot of varieties to choose from. Many dishes were Turkish food. I especially like the staffs at the hotel, they were friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel was excellent, just minutes away from the blue mosque and Hagia Sofia. So glad to stay there.
Loved the position of the hotel, from getting out of the taxi, we were very impressed by the warmness of the staff. The room was very clean and comfortable with a good sea view. Food breakfast was local breakfast, we managed to find what we liked, tbe owner is hands on and very nice. All in all, we would definitely book this hotel again
Location is excellent for all attractions Nothing
Location is excellent, room was very clean and the staff were very warm and friendly.
Breakfast and location, staff were helpful
Overall the friendliness of the staff and the cleanliness of the place as well as the affordability of the hotel. I love everything associated with Magnaura Palace! The breakfast spread was so varied and delicious. The Marmara Sea views were added attractions as you are having breakfast Its location is perfect that you can walk to the major attractions. We also felt safe. Very highly recommended!!!
This hotel is in a heart of ancient Constantinople. From the upper floor you may see all major attractions of the city: Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque and Bosphorus.
The location was perfect. Walking everywhere in the old part of the city near the main attractions and close to the tram. Great biew from the rooftop and breakfast was good. Only had tapas type food on arrival but that was great.
The property is charming, excellent staff, great breakfast with a view. If traveling in hot season, the air conditioning really works! Great location close to everything.

About This Hotel
The Magnaura Palace Hotel sits in the very heart of Istanbul’s historic Sultanahmet district, an area where ancient streets meet modern comforts. Guests staying here enjoy a short walk to some of the city’s most treasured monuments, with the Blue Mosque just 150 metres away and Hagia Sophia about 250 metres from the door. This proximity makes it a superb choice for travelers who want to explore on foot, morning to night, without relying on shuttles or taxis. From the hotel’s terrace, visitors can take in views of these renowned mosques, providing a memorable backdrop for morning coffee or an evening moment of reflection after a day of sightseeing. Step outside and you are in a setting that blends centuries of history with contemporary hospitality. The surrounding streets, cafes, and small shops offer a glimpse of daily life in one of the world’s most visited urban centers. The neighborhood has a distinctly authentic feel, inviting guests to wander and discover, whether it is a quiet corner for tea or a lively spot for a late-night bite after a long day on foot. While the focal point is unquestionably the historic core, the location also serves as a convenient base for exploring other Istanbul highlights during a longer stay. Beach and pool experience are not listed among the hotel’s on site offerings. The Magnaura Palace Hotel emphasizes a city center experience, where convenience, culture, and a refined atmosphere take centre stage. There is no information indicating a private beach or on site swimming facilities in the provided data. For guests seeking sea time, the hotel is best enjoyed as a gateway to Istanbul’s historic waterfronts and coastal neighborhoods rather than as a beachside retreat. The rooms at The Magnaura Palace Hotel are described as luxurious, with the terrace offering views toward the historic mosques. The precise renovation details are not provided, but the language used to describe the accommodations highlights comfort and refined design. The property’s image gallery features rooms and spaces that suggest a calm, polished aesthetic, with photos showing elements such as balconies or terraces that overlook city views and the surrounding skyline. This combination of elegant interiors and external scenery helps create an atmosphere of quiet sophistication after a day spent outdoors in the bustle of the old city. Dining and morning fare are reflected in the visual material associated with the hotel. Breakfast is represented in multiple image captions, indicating that morning dining is a noted component of the guest experience. While exact hours and menu specifics are not listed in the data, the presence of breakfast related imagery suggests a focus on starting the day well and enjoying a convenient, reassuring meal before heading out to explore the splendors of Istanbul. For families and younger travelers, the property presents a clear policy framework. The data shows that the hotel allows guests aged 9 and older, with a maximum occupancy of two guests per room. Cots are not available, and there is a limit of one extra bed, which comes with a per person per night charge. These rules mean that The Magnaura Palace Hotel is particularly well suited to couples, small groups, or travelers with older children, rather than guests seeking a family friendly option with younger kids. If you are planning a stay for a family with younger children, it is best to confirm current arrangements directly. In terms of relaxation and atmosphere, the property offers a refined backdrop in a location that is inherently tranquil for a bustling city destination. The terrace views dedicated to the two great mosques can provide a striking setting for a quiet moment at sunrise or a contemplative moment at dusk. The lobby and common spaces, as indicated by the image collection, appear to offer comfortable areas for socializing, reading, or enjoying a quiet moment after a day of sightseeing. While there is no explicit mention of on site spa facilities in the data, guests will find well designed interiors and a calm, elegant ambience that supports unwinding after a day spent exploring the city’s cultural riches. Who is this hotel ideal for? It is a strong match for travelers who want to immerse themselves in Istanbul’s historic core with all the convenience of a boutique property. Culture enthusiasts, couples seeking a romantic city break, and small groups looking for a central base will particularly appreciate the proximity to Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia, the terrace with mosque views, and the intimate scale of the property which features 21 rooms. The Magnaura Palace Hotel is also a good fit for guests who value a refined, quietly luxurious atmosphere in a walkable, culturally rich neighbourhood. If you plan a stay focused on exploring the historic sights of Sultanahmet and wish to wake up to elegant surroundings with easy access to the city’s best known landmarks, this hotel offers a compelling combination of location, atmosphere, and comfort.
