very friendly staff, nice clean room with all the amenities you need

The rooms were immaculate and very comfortable. Good, well-connected location too and noise levels were low given it was still in the city centre. Early check-in time meant we could drop our bags off before exploring the city.

No breakfast at the hotel anymore, but there are several nice cafes nearby, for example, the Treehouse Cafe and The Quinn's Cafe. The location was also perfect, there are many excellent restaurants on Bruntsfield place/Leven st/Home st. The city centre is only some 20 min walk away, and there's a bus stop right in front of the hotel as well. The owner of the hotel is super nice, he gave us many tips on for to explore the city, and we enjoyed the books that were available in the reception, there were many historybooks about the city etc. We had the largest room of the hotel, and it was newly refurbished, so it was excellent! Perfect for a romantic getaway.

Very generous sized room, with comfortable bed and newly renovated bathroom. The staff were very welcoming and helpful, and allowed us to leave bags before and after our stay. Lots of restaurants in close proximity, and a nice walk to most attractions.

location was great the room was really nicely decorated kettle with topped up coffee, tea and milk sachets everyday towels changed if placed inside shower tray

I really enjoyed the location of the hotel, it was really near of the center and had a bus stop really close that helped getting to the places that were further. Even though the door had a little space on the bottom, we didn't hear any noise of the corridor.

Great location! Walking distance from most of the popular tourist location. All of the staff were incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly! For the price- I’d 100% recommend someone to stay here. We had a couple questions about our room and the staff came immediately and answered our questions. I was hesitant once I read the reviews online but I was happily surprised with the quality of our stay for the price. Our room was cleaned almost everyday thoroughly, it felt clean and comfortable. Would go back if I were to visit Edinburgh again.

We loved everything about our stay at the Valentine. We received a great welcome and the kindness was over the top. Great position, we reached every spot by foot. The room is not very big but useful and was cleaned every day. Super comfy bed!
