Things to Do in York: Tours & Activities

York, inside its city walls, is a place to explore on foot. Guided history walks and a guided York Minster tour tell the story of its Roman and Viking past, and there is a Clifford's Tower ticket and a Harry Potter locations tour too. Cruises on the River Ouse, including a fish and chips evening cruise, show you the city from the water.

York's favourite evening activity is a ghost tour: the ghost bus, the witches walk and the York Dungeon. A chocolate tasting, a gin distillery visit and the York City Pass with more than 35 attractions are also on the list, and in nearby Harrogate there's the RHS Garden Harlow Carr.
