Very cozy and confortable place, with a nice breakfast, we really enjoyed our stay in this guest house

1. The host Danny was very helpful. I got help to get my luggage on the second floor. There is no elevator. 2. The bus stop to the city center is just by the hotel door, Bus 49, every 15-20 min 3. The tram stop to the airport is just 10 min in waking distance with a cost of 7.90 , instead of taxi for 46 pounds. Every 8 min. The duration of the trip is about 50 min to the airport 4. There are a couple of large grocery stores in 10 min walking distance , open till 10 pm and midnight. 5. There is a park just across the street with a children's playground and walking trails. 6. The bathroom was very clean, and the hot water was hot to be comfortable. Even if the bathroom was across a small hallway, 4 steps. But I knew that.

The hosts are wonderful and very helpful. The place is so clean and welcoming! We loved the location : away from the center of Edinburgh, but with so many public transportation options close by! And in a very pretty neighborhood, in walking distance of the water and with lots of very nice restaurants. Breakfast was very nice too, with many options.

We very much loved the hospitality of the hosts, the fact that the guest house was located near the bus stop (with the bus going to the city centre), the delicious breakfast, as well as the facilities (everything required was thought of).

Spotlessly clean room with lots of little touches for a comfortable stay. Very good, freshly-cooked breakfast. Friendly, helpful hosts. Bus stops closeby allow easy access to city centre. Currently able to park free of charge on roadside in front of/close to house.

A brilliant place for a short stay in Edinburgh. Danny was particularly helpful with our questions about the buses, local restaurants and he made sandwiches for us in place of breakfast as we had an early start on departure day.

Lovely room overlooking the park. Danny and Jasmine were great hosts. The breakfast was excellent. Parking on the street was a real bonus and bus stops to get you into the city and Portobello beat only 15 minutes away.

The room was spotless and very comfortable and had everything you could possibly need. Our host was very welcoming and accommodating and has thought of everything to create an enjoyable guesthouse experience. We had the breakfast on our 2nd morning; it was cooked to order and delicious with plenty of options. The location was ideal for visiting my son in Leith and an easy tram/bus ride into the centre of Edinburgh.

My room had a private bathroom just down the hall, which was very close and didn’t cause any inconvenience. The room came with a bathrobe, a nice tea corner, and other essentials. It was clean and tidied daily. Would recommend!

Very quiet and comfortable. The hosts were very kind and attentive. The breakfast was delicious. They even made me sandwiches to take when I had to check out early in the morning. The location is right on the bus line and it takes about 20 minutes to get to the center of town. The buses run frequently. I had a great day and highly recommend the Mackenzie guest house!
