Location was great, easy to get to the city centre via a pedestrian bridge over the River Ness. Easy walk to/from the train station. Breakfast was very good, pancakes with Canadian maple syrup and fruit as well as ham and cheese, toast, cereals and coffee. Host was very friendly and helpful. Great for our one night stay

Andy the host was most helpful. I have an eating disorder and each morning he provided me with a breakfast that I could enjoy. It was a very friendly B&B and I enjoyed my stay.

I slept very well and had plenty of food, pancakes, cereal etc in the morning to keep me going. Great location, near to the river and a short walk to bars and restaurants. Parking is not an issue as long as you are out between 10am and 5pm which I was.

Absolutely loved my stay at the Quaich. My solo traveller room was super cute and very spacious, and my host really went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed. Super easy to walk into the centre of town, too.

About This Hotel

The Quaich B&B sits at 36 Greig Street, a short stroll from Inverness city centre. Housed in a Victorian property dating back to 1872, this small but inviting bed and breakfast blends history with modern comfort. There are four guest rooms, each quietly different, yet all arranged to provide a restful base after a day of sightseeing. The house is set in a residential area, offering a calm, welcoming vibe while remaining within easy reach of shops and eateries. Inside, the property preserves period features while ensuring everyday practicality. Guests benefit from free WiFi in all areas and in room conveniences such as free toiletries and a hairdryer. The common spaces are cozy and uncluttered, designed for easy conversation or a quiet moment with a book. The overall ambiance emphasizes a home away from home experience rather than a formal hotel environment. Check in is welcomed between 4 pm and 9 pm, and check out is by 10 am. This flexible window helps visitors tailor their day around travel plans, especially those arriving after afternoon trains or arrivals. The small size of the property keeps service attentive and personalised, with a focus on simple comfort rather than self service. Dining is a feature that guests often mention in reviews. While the listing highlights breakfast options and a continental breakfast appears in the imagery, guests can expect a straightforward morning offering to start the day ahead. The location also lends itself to discovering Inverness’s café culture and nearby places to eat, whether grabbing a light bite before a day of touring or enjoying a relaxed dinner after an evening stroll. Bedrooms at The Quaich are described in guest photos as cozy, with a clear resemblance to a traditional Victorian vibe. The four rooms provide a comfortable place to rest after a day of exploring. Amenities include tasteful bedding and modern touches that contribute to a restful sleep. The photos show well laid out spaces with beds, evidence of careful design and attention to guest needs. While renovation details are not specified, the property presents itself as well maintained and welcoming. As a small, four room property, The Quaich B&B is ideal for travellers who value quiet, personal service and a central location. Families are welcome, but there is no capacity for extra beds or cots, so two guests per stay is the practical limit. The friendly approach and intimate scale often appeal to couples seeking a charming city break or friends exploring Inverness together. Reception and common areas are functional and comfortable, with a focus on convenience rather than grand amenities. Guests can expect reliable WiFi to plan days out, keep in touch with loved ones, or stream a movie in the evening. The street view and surrounding neighbourhood offer a sense of local life, with pedestrian friendly streets and easy access to public transport, shops and cultural highlights. From a value perspective The Quaich B&B offers a compelling option for someone who wants a memorable stay without the formality of a larger hotel. The high guest scores for location and staff reflect the warmth and attentiveness that many visitors experience. The property earns strong marks for cleanliness, location, and the helpful, friendly approach of the team. Inverness is a city with a compact, walkable centre and a rich history, and The Quaich B&B sits at a convenient crossroads of its charm. This makes it an excellent base for travellers who want to be close to cultural sights, local pubs and eateries, and riverside strolls. The Quaich is particularly well suited to romantic getaways, couples on city breaks, or travellers who value an intimate atmosphere, reliable WiFi and a comfortable room.
