Cheap and cheerful property. Staff were very friendly and helpful - no front desk at property so you need to text them if you need any additional info. Good location

Modern clean warm great location

Holly 8.0

We booked a lovely room on the ground floor. It had everything we needed for three nights, including an incredibly comfortable bed, television and ensuite. Communication was excellent, and they couldn't have been more amenable when we needed to extend our stay. Very good value for money and close to some gorgeous pubs and restaurants on St. James St.

About This Hotel

Westbourne Hotel and Spa sits along Upper Rock Gardens in Brighton, a refined townhouse property that invites guests to step from a quiet street into a lively coastal scene. The location blends easy access to the sea with a central position that puts Palace Pier, the town centre and Brighton Marina within reach. From the moment you arrive you feel the balance between practical comfort and the playful energy of the seafront. The exterior is classic in character, while the interior focuses on comfort and ease, making it a welcoming base for weekend breaks or short coastal getaways. The property sits at 46 Upper Rock Gardens, a short stroll from the sands and the promenade, and the neighborhood around it is known for its convenient cafes and scenic promenades that invite a relaxed rhythm of days by the water. Just steps from the sand, the hotel makes a beach day simple. You can wake early, wander to the water, and be back in time for a coffee before you explore the rest of the seafront. The surrounding area is rich with options for dining, casual cafes and lively bars, all within a short walk. The Palace Pier and the historic lanes of central Brighton are nearby for shoppers and families looking for light entertainment, while Brighton Marina offers boating and waterfront dining a little further along the coast. The Broadwater area around the hotel provides pleasant strolls along the seafront and parks where children can play and couples can pause to watch the sunset. The overall feeling is one of convenience without crowding, a calm haven that still places you at the heart of the action. Inside the hotel you will find 13 rooms designed for simple, dependable comfort. The rooms are described by photo evidence as featuring seating areas, wardrobe spaces and TV and multimedia options, ensuring guests have enough space to relax and unwind after a day of exploring. The bed clearly plays a central role in the design, and many of the images show generous, inviting beds and pleasingly calm decor. While the renovation history is not detailed, the focus remains on providing a tidy, well maintained space that meets modern expectations for a seaside stay. Some rooms appear to offer sea views, while others present city views, giving guests a sense of variety depending on their choice. The rooms emphasize natural light and soft color palettes that create a welcoming atmosphere, and staff are known for keeping rooms clean and well stocked with essential amenities. Food and drink are presented with a practical mindset. In room coffee and tea facilities are available in a number of spaces, making it easy to start the day with a warm drink without leaving your room. The property also features photo content that shows a dining area, and several spaces hint at kitchen or kitchenette capabilities, which can suit guests seeking a flexible, self contained option during shorter breaks. While there may not be a large in house restaurant, the location ensures plentiful nearby options for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with many Brighton favourites within a short stroll. Guests who enjoy morning coffee by the sea will appreciate the simple, social vibe of nearby cafes, while those seeking easy meals can take advantage of the kitchenette style spaces if offered in their room. Family friendliness is a clear consideration here. The property can accommodate up to three guests in a room, with no capacity for extra beds or cots. The policy specifies that children older than 10 are welcome, and there are nuanced notes about charges for younger guests. Specifically, up to two children aged 10 to 12 can stay free when using existing beds, while children aged 13 and above are charged as adults. Check in starts at 3:30 PM and check out is by 11:00 AM. Free WiFi is available in all areas, helping families stay connected during a seaside break. The hotel does not allow pets, which helps keep the environment quiet and suitable for all guests. Brighton is a family friendly destination with plenty of easy activities nearby such as seafront strolls, fish and chip spots and carnival style amusements along the pier. Wellness and light entertainment are woven into the guest experience. The name Westbourne Hotel and Spa signals a spa retreat element that complements the coastal setting, offering a chance to unwind after days on the beach or exploring the city. The spa ethos sits alongside comfortable lounges, a calm atmosphere and social spaces that invite guest interaction. The overall ambiance supports rest and relaxation while remaining friendly and approachable, ideal for guests who want a straightforward, value oriented escape by the sea. Visitors can plan a gentle spa session or simply enjoy a quiet moment in the lounge areas between excursions to the shops and attractions along the seafront. Who should consider this property? It is a strong match for couples seeking a relaxed coastal escape who appreciate a central location with quick access to the beach and pier. It also appeals to families with older children who want to stay close to Brighton’s main sights without paying top city prices. Solo travelers looking for a straightforward, no fuss base will enjoy the simplicity and the reliably reliable WiFi. In short, Westbourne Hotel and Spa offers a convenient, comfortable and affordable gateway to a Brighton break, combining easy access to the shore, practical rooms, wellness options and a friendly, family oriented atmosphere.
