We stayed here last minute due to our other accommodation falling through. From the moment we arrived Rosie was so lovely & made sure we have everything we need with brilliant recommendations for eating out. The room was so comfy & clean. The cooked breakfast was one of the best we've had (we even went to the butchers they use it was so good!) after an awful experience at first property, number 38 completely restored our faith & went above & beyond. We will definitely stay again ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

My second stay and just as enjoyable as the last one. Cosy but adequate room this time with all the extras you could wish for. Tasty breakfast, helpful staff. Would recommend for a stay in Bristol.

Staff were really lovely. We were given a free upgrade, which they said try to do when they can. They sent a fabulous breakfast to our room as we had an issue with lost car keys, so no luggage and gave us a late check out. The room was fabulous with an enormous bath...really luxury. The views from our suite were stunning and it's right on The Downs, so perfect for a morning stroll

We were very lucky to be upgraded and had a spacious room which was great as my husband is 6ft 6 inches. Breakfast was delicious and will be missed. The parking permit we were given was ideal as we were staying 3 nights so were able to park directly opposite the guest house and never worry about parking.

We received a warm welcome on a cold day from the friendly receptionist, to a lovely warm hotel. The room, number 8, was really nice; amazing view, comfy bed, big clean bathroom with a great shower. The attention to detail such as the complimentary macarons, the luxury toiletries, not to mention the delicious breakfast, made this stay perfect. Shame it was just 1 night! Thank you!

Location and we were given a complimentary upgrade to room number 7 which has a fabulous ensuite bathroom

Expect thoughtful touches that help you settle in quickly, with uncluttered surfaces, clean lines and fabrics that feel both high quality and welcoming. Some rooms clearly showcase seating areas, enabling you to relax with a book or enjoy a cup of coffee while taking in the view. The emphasis is on creating a calm, uncluttered space where you can unwind in the way that suits you best. Guest rooms benefit from views that can be a daily highlight. Depending on the room, you may enjoy vistas toward Clifton Downs or the city centre, which adds a sense of connection to the surroundings and a sense of scale that many city breaks crave. The bed setups, as depicted in the imagery, appear generous and inviting, with practical, well thought out layouts that maximise comfort. Bathrooms in the available visuals show clean, modern styling with essential amenities, reinforcing the idea of a straightforward, comfortable stay. While the property does not claim every luxury feature, it leans into everyday excellence and dependable comfort that busy travellers appreciate after a day of brisk sightseeing or meetings. On the dining and social front, the visuals highlight a dining area and a library or lounge space that contribute to a sociable and relaxed atmosphere. The presence of a dedicated dining space in the photos suggests opportunities to gather for meals or informal conversations, while a library or quiet seating area invites guests to unwind with a book or a laptop. The property lists free WiFi across all areas, which is a definite plus for both leisure and business travellers who want to stay connected without friction. Public parking nearby is available, and some planning may be required in advance since reservation is noted. This kind of access is often essential for travelers who are making their own itineraries and prefer the flexibility of parking a short distance from the front door. The hotel supports a straightforward approach to travel with practical details such as check in and check out times clearly stated: check in is available between 3 pm and 8 pm, while check out is from 6 am to 11 am. These times reflect a balanced rhythm for both arrival and departure, supporting a smooth and relaxed schedule. From a family and guest profile perspective, the property stands out for its adult friendly policy. It is a place where you can enjoy a peaceful night after days spent wandering the city, the Downs and nearby cultural highlights. The intimate size of the property contributes to a sense of personalised attention and a feeling of exclusivity that larger hotels often struggle to match. Well being and evenings sit naturally into the experience, even in the absence of a dedicated wellness facility. The quiet spaces—the lounge, the library and the dining area—provide opportunities to unwind, read and reflect after a day spent outdoors. Views from the rooms and the chance to watch the city glow as the sun sets over Bristol can be a simple, effective form of relaxation.
