Moorgarth Guesthouse

I had an absolutely lovely time. I was lucky enough to get an upgrade for my stay which certainly helped but even outside of that: everyone was lovely, the building quiet, the bed comfortable. About 15 minutes away from the centre (with a slow pace) and lovely cafés to help with the walk. Thank Heidi and Greg for this wonderful stay!

The property was lovely and felt very warm and welcoming! I fell in love with my room the moment I entered it. It gives you that feeling of being a local having lived in York for years. I wish I could’ve stayed longer. Maybe I will when I get back for another holiday fingers crossed.

I just needed a basic single room to stay in within walking distance of York city centre, but Moorgarth was much nicer and more comfortable than I was expecting. Upgraded to a spare double room which was cosy and comfortable. Very well soundproofed considering the busy road outside, I slept soundly for 10 hours. Check in quick and friendly. Great value too.

It was a home from home.relaxing and comfortable with everything needed for a weekend of reliving some memories in york ..Greg was great friendly accommodating and very sociable and very helpful giving us info about the area ..parking in site was very useful

The room was exactly what I expected with a comfortable bed. The guesthouse was right on the bus line to/from the airport and there was a nice river walk to the center of town. There were restaurants just a short walk away. I appreciate supporting small businesses. I met the owners and they were exceptionally nice and welcoming. One night, I brought some take away for dinner, the owner saw me and offered me some of their own silverware. That was quite nice, because I didn't realize that the take away didn't come with any eating utensils.

A well appointed clean and spacious room with a comfortable bed. staff were friendly and accommodating

The guest house was great and kept to a traditional way (not modernised) which I really loved. It just felt very homely and a much loved house.

Breakfast was excellent, fresh and well cooked with largely locally sourced ingredients

We stayed only one night and it was a comfortable stay. The room was much bigger than I expected and clean. The owner was absolutely made us welcomed at arrival. Quick and easy check in. He gave us lots of information about the places we can go for the night. A 15 minutes walk to the centre.

Very clean, comfortable and spacious room. Friendly owners made me feel welcome. Safe place to park my motorcycle which is important to me. Easy walk into town.

The location was within walking distance to the train station and city centre. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. The room itself was immaculately clean roomy and the property was very quiet.

Good location for city centre for walking also local bus passes by that takes you. Room was clean and had everything we needed. Plenty of local attractions information placed in room which we found helpful. Very friendly and polite hosts
