Location is fine - 20mn or so from old town, but that's what I booked so it was perfectly fine. There's also a bus 20m from the hotel to the center (less to the station). Old school decor but clearly what you'd expect from pics, and I happen to enjoy it. Cosy and nice. Bed's comfy, staff is nice, you can leave your bads before check-in, there's a small terrace - and a pool (which I didn't use)

This hotel surprised me, I was expecting the standard single room with a king single bed and best and room that was just big enough to fit everything in it but instead I got quite a large room with a large bed that was very comfortable, the staff were friendly and it was an easy walk to all the majour attractions.

Staff were all very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast and bar facilities were good. Bed was large and comfortable Considering the hotel was on a main road, it was a relatively quiet situation and convenient fir getting into York centre. Swimming pool is a bonus. Room was spacious, as was bathroom. I apparently had an upgrade too.

Staff were very friendly. We did not have a chance to use the swimming pool, but it looked very nice. Plenty of room to park. There was an iron, an ironing board, a heater, a good hairdryer, an electric fan and a kettle. Various coffee, tea and milk portions were available to make warm drinks in the room.
