Quirky main building, our room was in a courtyard and it was perfect ! Staff were so friendly and accommodating. Location next to the knavesmire and just a 15/20 min walk ( which is lovely) into town was perfect for us.

I was looking for a hotel located within walking distance of York city centre, public transport and the main visitor attractions and decided to stay at the Elmbank York. During my stay I found all of the staff to be kind, friendly and very courteous. The bed was very comfortable and there was plenty of hot water available. I included the breakfast during my stay and I thought it was exceptional with plenty of choice (including prunes). The service was also very good if you chose something from the breakfast menu. Anyone staying at the hotel cannot fail to notice how beautiful it has been decorated.

Highly Recommend. Staff extremely friendly. Decor was boutique, colourful and calming. Bar cosy and welcoming. Room was large enough, nice and quiet, Queen bed so comfy, again beautiful decor and huge bathroom, lovely shower. Breakfast was very good value, hot and tasty from meats and fruit with yoghurt, Cereals, Pastries and a choice of alternative breakfast not just a full english.

Friendly staff, menu chice was really good and fairly priced compared to restaurants in York centre. The breakfast menu had plenty to choose from, especially the continental choice. The location was great, only a 10 min walk from York centre
