Great location

Ganine 8.0

Good location right by train station. Walking distance to shops and restaurants. Nice bar and bistro in the hotel. Great decor and lovely sized room. Comfortable and had everything we needed.

Maria 8.0

I liked the atmosphere in the bar restaurant. The decor was nice in my room. It had everything I needed. I had an afternoon tea in the restaurant, it was ok, the cocktail didn’t seem to be freshly made. The staff were very nice and were helpful

Hotel is very close to the station and on a busy road so didn't feel unsafe walking there in the dark. Room was larger than I was expecting for the price and tastefully decorated. Calm and just what I needed.

About This Hotel

Malmaison Manchester sits opposite Manchester Piccadilly Station in a beautifully restored Victorian warehouse. Inside, 165 boutique rooms blend contemporary comfort with character borrowed from the building’s industrial roots. The public areas echo that stylish mood, from the welcoming lobby to the lively brasserie and the fitness centre that keeps pace with a busy city itinerary. The overall feel is intimate yet modern, with a calm, muted palette, thoughtful lighting, and beds that invite long rests after a day of travel or exploration. This is a hotel that understands how a city break should feel – polished, easy to navigate, and full of small, well considered touches. Set in Manchester’s vibrant centre the property puts you within strolling distance of theatres, shops, and dining options. Being directly opposite the main rail hub makes onward travel effortless, whether you are catching a train, heading to a business meeting, or simply wandering to the best bars and cafés nearby. The surrounding streets pulse with urban energy yet the hotel’s interior remains a calm retreat. The location is ideal for guests who want to dip in and out of the city with minimal planning while preserving time for rest and recuperation in stylish surroundings. This is not a seaside resort and there is no private pool on site. Instead, guests seeking relaxation will find a dedicated spa and wellness area alongside a modern fitness centre. The spa facilities are designed to complement a busy itinerary, offering spaces to unwind after a day of sightseeing or meetings. For those who prefer a quick workout, the fitness centre provides a practical, well equipped space to energise before heading out again. The balance of wellness options with the city’s energy makes this hotel a strong choice for urban relaxation. Among the key attractions are the rooms themselves. The 165 boutique accommodations are curated with comfort and style in mind, combining contemporary furnishings with subtle nods to the building’s industrial heritage. Expect generous beds dressed in high quality linens, good lighting for work or reading, and practical spaces that work whether you are travelling solo or as a couple. Many rooms include a seating area where you can linger with a drink or a laptop before bed. Bathrooms are sleek and modern with clean lines and contemporary fittings, contributing to a streamlined, hotel standard that still feels thoughtfully personal. The overall effect is a living space that invites you to slow down and enjoy the mood as much as the location. Dining is anchored by a on site brasserie that serves a modern, seasonally inspired menu. The atmosphere is relaxed enough for a casual dinner after a long day, yet polished enough for a weekend treat. A separate lounge area and bar offer a comfortable setting for evening cocktails or a light bite before a night out. For early starts, continental breakfast options are available to fuel a busy day, and the staff can tailor recommendations for a day of sightseeing. The food and beverage spaces are designed to be social hubs as well as practical dining options, which makes them popular with guests and locals alike. The hotel is welcoming to families and guests at all stages of life. Children of any age are accepted. Cots and extra beds are subject to availability, and the hotel lays out clear policies to help guests plan. One child under two can stay free when using a cot, while children aged three to eleven can stay for a set nightly fee when using an existing bed or an extra bed. The maximum occupancy per room is three, and there is typically space for one cot and one extra bed. These guidelines make it easier to travel with kids while maintaining a comfortable level of space. In addition to the spa and gym, Malmaison Manchester offers spaces designed for socialising and unwinding after a day in the city. The lobby and guest areas are designed for both conversation and quiet downtime, while the brasserie and bar create a sociable backdrop for evenings. The building’s heritage and modern design combine to offer a sense of drama without pretension, making it equally suitable for couples seeking a romantic city break and professionals looking for a stylish base near transport links. The overall experience blends style, convenience, and warmth to feel welcoming without being stuffy. This hotel is ideal for city breakers who value location, design, and easy access to transport. Couples will enjoy the boutique ambience and the on site dining options, while business travellers will appreciate the gym and the proximity to Piccadilly Station. Families will find the flexible policies helpful for a comfortable city stay. Malmaison Manchester offers a refined urban retreat that works as a practical base for work and a chic, relaxed escape for leisure. With its unique victorian warehouse vibe, central location, and thoughtful amenities, Malmaison Manchester is a stylish choice for visitors who want to feel at home in the heart of Manchester.
