Cute little house in a great location in Inverness. Super friendly host, easy check in and out. The room has everything you need and very spacious. I only stayed one night but would definitely stay again.
We loved our stay at Corbies Rest. It’s exquisitely decorated, a refreshing change from the usual IKEA-style or standard decor. The location was great: peaceful and quiet, yet still close enough to everything. We really appreciated having coffee and tea on hand since our schedule was very busy. Eilidh was a wonderful host, so friendly and welcoming, which made the stay even better.
Breakfast not provided. The area quiet and attractive with an enjoyable walk along the river into town. Our landlady very helpful and friendly, with lots of good advice about places to go and interesting snippets of local information.
Beautiful property in a stunning location.
Very welcoming. Great location. Older property but very well maintained.
I LOVED everything about this place! The location was amazing! It was so close to town yet far enough away that you weren’t in the hustle and bustle of everything. The room was not only cute but very comfortable!! Every little detail was so well thought out!! The shower was also wonderful and the water pressure was divine. I just loved it all!

Very quiet and close to downtown area. 15 minute walk. Host provided great information about the area. Also she gave excellent recommendations for dinner and drinks. Room was very clean and great to have tea in the room. A few bottles of water would have been nice.
The room was totally fine. The owner ist really nice! The location is great. You can get to the city quickly, and the walk to Ness Islands outside the city is also very nice.
The property is cozy and comfortable and Eilidh is a delight!
Beautifully decorated room and very friendly hostes.
Lovely, enthusiastic host. Gave us some extra recommendations on top of the very useful folder she made. Room was nice and clean! Parking was fine as well, first come first serve basis but from our experience there was always a spot available.
The property was excellent. The host was extremely welcoming, kind, and always willing to provide helpful advice.
Spacious room, clean and comfortable. Nice river views and location, a bit outside the city, but walking distance.
Location was excellent - by the river, and a short walk to town. Staff friendly, rooms comfortable. No breakfast, as was clearly set out when I booked, but there are places nearby to eat.
The room is located close to the town centre in a 10-15 minute walking distance. It is small, but very comfortable, has a small table, a TV and a good bed. It is really clean and cosy and perfect for a solo traveller. I got really good recommendations for non-touristy spots in and around Inverness (I can't tell, otherwise they'll become touristy) and even for the next stage of my trip, Fort William.
A friendly host Who took good care of us. The place has a cosy bar where local scotrish people drop by. And the dinner which we chose was good solid food which is served with charming personality. Perfekt plade for one or 2 dans.
Lovely host, cute room and perfect location in Inverness. We will come back!
Safe, beautiful location, comfortable stay, lovely host!
A relaxed and comfortable home from home. I enjoyed the location overlooking the river, and the decor was beautiful.
About This Hotel
Corbies Rest offers a calm, riverside escape in Inverness, set on the banks of the River Ness and just a short stroll from the cultural hub of Eden Court Theatre. This intimate guest house emphasizes comfort and convenience, with an address that puts you within easy reach of the city’s most-loved spots. The building overlooks Cavell Gardens, creating a tranquil, leafy backdrop that enhances the sense of retreat after a day exploring the Highlands. With five well appointed rooms, guests can expect a simple, relaxed stay that suits couples and travelers who value location and a personal touch over large hotel amenities. Location is the star here. The Eden Court Theatre is a mere four minutes on foot, making Corbies Rest an ideal base for catching a show or enjoying a night out in Inverness. You’ll also be close to Cavell Gardens, a pleasant nearby green space where a stroll can be a refreshing morning ritual. The guest house sits away from the bustle, yet it is still easy to reach Inverness city’s key sights, shops, and riverside walks. The River Ness provides a soothing backdrop to mornings and evenings, inviting guests to pause and soak in the peaceful rhythm of the town. In terms of the water experience, Corbies Rest is not a pool hotel. It offers a true riverside atmosphere with scenic views of Cavell Gardens and the flowing Ness. Guests who appreciate the outdoors will enjoy the sense of openness around the property, and the surrounding riverfront area offers a pleasant setting for strolls, photography, and quiet contemplation rather than a resort style pool day. Room comfort is a clear strength. The five rooms are described as well appointed, designed to deliver a restful night’s sleep after a day of Highlands adventures or city exploration. Expect comfortable bedding and a calm, uncomplicated ambiance that helps you unwind. The property does not list extensive renovation details, but the emphasis remains on creating a clean, comfortable space with thoughtful touches that enhance a short break or a longer stay in the city. Food and beverage options are framed by the room only concept. As a room only option, dining meals are not included in the stay, and there is no on site restaurant listed. This setup suits guests who prefer to discover Inverness dining at their own pace, whether they are seeking traditional Scottish fare, riverside coffee shops, or informal bistros near the city center. The focus at Corbies Rest is on providing a comfortable room, reliable WiFi, and a convenient base from which to explore the area. When it comes to family friendliness and activities, the property is best suited for up to two guests at a time. Official policies place a maximum of two guests, with specific guidance about children. Older children are welcome, and there are notes about using existing beds and the absence of space for additional cots or extra beds. One policy does mention that a child aged 10 to 17 may stay free when using existing beds, but this is balanced by the overall occupancy limit. If you are traveling with kids, it is important to confirm the occupancy details in advance to avoid any surprises on arrival. Relaxation and entertainment options in the area are abundant, even without on site facilities. The Eden Court Theatre within a few minutes’ walk provides cultural evenings, while the riverside setting invites peaceful walks and easy access to Inverness city life. Free WiFi is available in the rooms, and there is free private parking nearby, with the note that the parking location is not bookable in advance. This makes Corbies Rest a practical choice for travelers who prefer to drive and then explore on foot or by local transit. Check in is available from 16:00 to 18:30, and check out runs from 07:00 to 10:00. This straightforward schedule adds to the relaxed vibe of a stay at Corbies Rest, allowing you to plan day trips or morning routines without time pressure. Free parking nearby adds further convenience for guests arriving by car, and the property provides practical essentials like WiFi in the rooms to keep you connected during your stay. Who is Corbies Rest ideal for? If you are seeking a central Inverness location with riverfront charm, close to cultural venues and green spaces, this guest house offers a refined yet understated experience. It is well suited for couples and solo travelers who value a quiet base with easy access to shows, gardens, and riverside walks. The combination of a superb location, strong guest reviews, and the absence of heavy hotel amenities appeals to visitors who prefer a personable, homey atmosphere over large hotel facilities. With a high overall review score and consistently positive feedback on location, staff, and cleanliness, Corbies Rest stands out as a dependable choice for a city break that pairs culture with calm, comfortable lodging right by the water.
