Laura and Danny are very kind, since the first moment they make you feel welcome and share with you places of interest you can go and visit. The room was comfortable, clean and make you feel like home. The best place I have stayed in my trip.

Extremely friendly owners, very clean room and excellent breakfast choices. Really enjoyed my stay and only a short walk/bus journey to Inverness centre. Minor issue with the air extractor in the bathroom was fixed promptly and without fuss. I am staying her again, already booked!

The room was very nice and the hosts were very sweet. We were met at the door and shown around, they even gave us recommendations for a place to eat. They were close to shopping so we could walk everywhere. They left chocolate for us and delicious ice cold water.

The host was lovely and very helpful and gave us a lot of tips of things to see and places to eat. The room was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was rich and worth the extra cost. An easy 10 min walk to city centre. Good parking and two big supermarkets close by.

Laura is the best host! She provided recommendations about where to eat and what to do before our arrival. She has been so kind and helpful during our stay. It has been so nice to meet her. The room is spacious, spotlessly clean, and very comfortable. 10 min walk from city centre. Highly recommend!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at The Kemps Guesthouse, and I can confidently say that it was an experience beyond my expectations. From the moment I arrived, it was clear that Danny and Laura are hosts who truly care about their guests’ comfort and experience. The accommodations were spotless, cozy, and beautifully decorated, making it feel like a home away from home. But what really sets this guesthouse apart is the hospitality of Danny and Laura. They go to great lengths to ensure that you not only feel welcome but also well-informed about the area. Their local knowledge is invaluable! They provided fantastic tips on hiking trails and exploring the nearby attractions that you won’t find in any guidebook. Thanks to their guidance, I was able to experience some of the most breathtaking views and hidden gems that I would have otherwise missed. It’s rare to find a place where everything—from the ambiance to the service—is flawless, but The Kemps Guesthouse has truly achieved this. If you’re looking for a stay that combines comfort, warmth, and adventure, look no further. My stay could not have been better, and I can’t wait to return. Highly recommended!

About This Hotel

Situated on a quiet street just a short stroll from central Inverness, The Kemps Guest House welcomes guests with a straightforward, homely charm. The property sits in a convenient location for exploring the city on foot or by bike, while the modest size of the house preserves a feeling of privacy and personal attention that larger hotels often struggle to match. From the door, you are less than a mile from Inverness city centre and under ten minutes on foot to the scenic River Ness. The area around the guest house is calm and residential, with easy access to riverside paths and local services. This balance of location and peace makes it a practical base for city visits and day trips into the surrounding Highlands. Inside, the four guest rooms are described as offering garden views. That simple detail sets the tone for a relaxing stay, where you can wake up to greenery and a quiet morning before venturing out to discover nearby attractions. The emphasis is on uncomplicated comfort rather than opulence, with a practical layout that suits short breaks and weekend escapes. Practical amenities are a clear strength here. Free private parking on site means you can come and go without planning ahead for parking or paid overnight fees. Free WiFi is available in the rooms, letting you stay connected for work or leisure. These small conveniences can make a big difference when you are visiting a new city. Check-in is offered from 16:00 to 20:00 and check-out runs from 07:30 to 10:00. This window supports travelers arriving after a day of sightseeing or business trips, while still allowing a relaxed morning before departure. If you anticipate a late arrival, it is wise to confirm arrival times in advance to ensure smooth handovers. The property accommodates a maximum of two guests per booking, which keeps the setting intimate and straightforward. There is no capacity for extra beds or cots. The policy also notes that children older than four are welcome, which may suit couples traveling with an older child or small family planning a compact stay. For clarity, plan ahead regarding the number of guests when booking. Because the guest house is compact, it tends to suit travelers who value a warm, friendly atmosphere over extensive in-house facilities. The absence of on-site dining information means guests often explore Inverness neighbourhoods for meals, tasting local cafes and eateries outside the property. The immediate surroundings encourage a relaxed pace and the chance to enjoy the city without energy draining crowds. While the listing highlights free parking and garden views, it does not specify any on-site restaurant or bar. Guests who prefer meals at the property should verify whether breakfast arrangements or other dining options are available. Nearby eateries in Inverness can provide a variety of options, from casual cafes to more substantial dinners, depending on your plans. Rooms emphasize comfort with a simple, uncluttered presentation. Expect a tidy space and restful bedding that supports a good night’s sleep after days spent exploring. Garden-facing windows invite natural light and the chance to enjoy a peaceful outlook. While facilities may be modest, the focus remains on a clean, comfortable environment with a homely mood. Guest reviews consistently reference cleanliness, comfort and the excellent attitude of the staff. With an overall superb rating and high scores across categories such as hotel location, staff and services, The Kemps Guest House earns trust from travelers seeking reliable, straightforward accommodation. The personal touch of a small property often translates into helpful, responsive service when you have questions or need guidance. This hotel is ideal for couples seeking a calm city break, solo travelers looking for a practical base near Inverness sights, or visitors who simply want a comfortable room with easy access to the River Ness. The combination of garden views, free parking and strong wifi makes it an efficient choice for those who value value alongside a friendly, low-key environment. With a superb guest experience, accessible location and clear policies, The Kemps Guest House offers a reliable option for a short break or weekend getaway. The intimate scale, straightforward amenities and welcoming atmosphere create a dependable home base while you explore Inverness and its surrounding Highlands.
