Great location. Quirky lodgings.

Claire 9.0

We loved the location of the hotel. The staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful. The period charm of the building made our stay memorable. The evening food was good and the breakfast just perfect.

Central location was perfect for our visit to York. Close to the Minster and other historic sites. Next to the city wall. Staff were friendly and efficient, especially at breakfast. Arrived before check-in time. Staff looked after our luggage and took it to our room ready for us when we returned after a few hours sightseeing. The building is old with a lot of character.

Wonderful quirky 17th century building. Interesting attic deluxe double room exquisitely furnished with blues and yellows. Lovely breakfast room and very helpful and friendly breakfast waiting on table serving staff

This is a great little inn above the restaurant so you’ll be climbing. The pub is great, as is the location. The staff was extremely helpful.

The staff were really nice and helpful. Great location. The food was lovely. Nothing was a problem for staff

Rodney 9.0

A very centrally located historical Inn, excellent staff who willingly helped with our heavy bags, loved the decor and the breakfasts which were beautifully presented, Jeremy needs special mention for his upmost consideration of his guests, nothing was too much trouble for him. Enjoyed the comfy bed and hot showers. Loved the pealing of the bells nearby and the general vibrancy of York. A visit to the Yorkshire museum was so interesting. Excellent displays and friendly helpful staff.

William 8.0

The staff were awesome. The attic room was very nice, better than our previous room (earlier stay in the same week). Having fans in the room was so helpful.

We loved the quirkiness & character of the place. The room was clean cosy & comfortable & well equipped. The staff were friendly, helpful & welcoming. The beer garden was a nice little oasis in the middle of the city. The location couldn't have been better, 30 seconds from the minster & all the delights of York just a short walk away as well as being within easy walking distance to the station. Also surprisingly quiet in the morning despite being so close to everything in a city centre.
